Cool!  Thanks for posting.  Wow, I thought maverick was going to be a wise old admiral not an active fighter pilot!  Should be fun.  Wonder if they will be shooting down T-38s again ;)

Thanks,

John

I'll be seeing it as well.

Rather than the speculation of Goose being killed off (again), I would more suspect a sendoff for Viper since Mav found support from him, as someone who knew and flew with his Dad, and as a mentor........and he went back as an instructor at the end of the original.

I'm looking forward to it as well as the 2 Midway movies.

Hope they put the first one in theaters again before they release it; it's terrific on the big screen!

Am I the only one who is extremely underwhelmed by this movie?

I did not care for first one either.  Just for little kids, or cruise fans.

Or Kelly McGillis, Tom Skerrit and Anthony Edwards fans. Toss in Meg Ryan and a bunch of F-14s.

If you look closely, you can see a photo of Goose in Maverick's locker when he opens the door.

Regarding the trailer, I loved the scene where the plane takes off of the carrier and the camera is in the cockpit looking back at Maverick. You can see the flight deck rushing by. As the catapult starts up, Maverick is thrown back in his seat. When the plane leaves the flight deck he is thrown forward. What a rush that must be. The sound of the plane accelerating is great. I read that in this movie there are more scenes taken in the actual airplanes and less scenes using CGI. I am so up for this movie. I think that it is time to go downstairs and watch Top Gun 1 again. Crank up the volume.

Did anyone notice the pressure suit Tom Cruise was wearing?  Is there going to be a sub-orbital shootout with rocket boosted Chinese J-20s and Russian Su-57s?  You know the scenario:  Maverick has to dispatch the Commie jets before they unload their nuclear payload (smart, hypersonic, maneuvering MIRVs).  If he takes too long, the US is nuclear toast and he'll burn up in re-entry because he has only seconds to pull up and slow down!

-BUT!!!-

One of the MIRVs gets by and heads for its target - Washington DC!  Maverick must risk it all by following in the MIRV's shockwave to keep from overheating.  It's a duel to the death at street level(!) as the hypersonic(!!!) MIRV streaks though the city, making hairpin turns(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), while firing defensive drones which swarm Maverick's F-18+++ (That's Eff Eighteen Plus Plus Plus!).  Or he'll fly a specially modified (oh-it's Maverick's old ride, coincidences of coincidences!) F-14 taken out of the Boneyard and equipped with hybrid fusion-turbofan engines for the special mission.

If anything like that load of cow manure I just wrote happens in the movie, I had nothing to do with it.  Pinkie promise.

“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”

And, Jennifer Lawrence appears as the love child that Mav and Charlie had, but he never knew about. But wait, Mav's gone back in time and she's not really his daughter, so they fall in love.

At JustinRyan and Tankboy,

I'm with you, it's not for me.  The first one was way too schmaltzy, plus I detest anything with Cruise in it.

Seeing as he is pounding a set of wings on a casket, wonder if his Dad's remains were found and returned?
