1917 free movie night at Fort Knox
Posted by Rob Gronovius on Saturday, December 14, 2019 11:28 PM

Got to see the new movie 1917 at the post theater on Fort Knox tonight. It's no Midway.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8579674/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Basic premise; during WW1, two young British soldiers are given the mission to inform a regiment not to attack at dawn. It's a trap! The lives of 1600 men hang in the balance.

They cross No Man's Land and enter enemy held territory trying to reach the colonel before it's too late.

Will they make it? Wasn't that Gallipoli?

Not a bad movie. Nice to see it before it was released.

Several of the "big" name stars, like Dr. Strange and Mark Strong, get only a minute of screen time in one scene a piece. Couple of Game of Thrones actors get a scene or two.

Main star is an unknown.

Looking forward to seeing this, i don't go to the cinema often, but i might make an exception. Not released here until the middle of next month for some reason.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Yes, said that it will be released in select theaters on Christmas day and everywhere on January 10th. I do not know why.

Really not a lot of WW1 style action, more of a character driven story.
