Tickmagnet
I like to have a variety of forums, at least two on one subject. Well I just stumbled onto Hyperscale Forums and I'm just curious if anyone else here is active there as well. It seems to be very active and no photo hosting site is needed to post photos. They also have like buttons which are extremely convenient. The visual format is not as good as Finescale but it works. Just another good source to gain information from.
I go to Hyperscale, too. There's a lot of good info there, and some real professionals-people who research and author books on various subjects. But I find the tone there frequently grouchy. Sarek of Vulcan sez....
But seriously, there are probably some other forums with the same characteristic.
As far as other modeling forums go, I belong to:
Scale Model Addict (heavy on sci-fi): https://www.scalemodeladdict.com/
Agape Modelers (all subjects but heavy on airplanes) https://www.agapemodelersforum.com/index.php
MaschinenKrueger.com, a Maschinen Krieger specialty forum: http://maschinenkrueger.com/forum/index.php
PlanetFigure, a figure painter's forum: https://www.planetfigure.com/forum/ Since the demise of the TimelinesHistorica forum, PlanetFigure is probably the premier English-language forum for figure painters, even taking into account forums for fantasy figure painters.
Treefrog Treasures Toy Soldier Forum: https://forum.treefrogtreasures.com/forum.php As the name suggests, it's a toy soldier forum, mostly collectors, though there are those of us who paint (or cast and paint) figures, as well as collect them.
Those are the forums I belong to and in which I participate as a member. I also visit Aircraft Resource Center, Modeling Madness, Cybermodeler.
Oh, and I belong to and participate in two German figure painter forums, HZ-Forum http://www.hz-forum.eu/forum_2012/forum.php, and the Figure-Mad Forum https://figure-mad.com/smf2/index.php?action=forum
