FLAG DAY, June 14th, Let's get them up and flying
Posted by HooYah Deep Sea on Sunday, June 14, 2020 10:01 AM

I know that this is a multi-national forum, and all the better for it. Thank you everyone for your contributions.

Now, for the Americans out there, June 14th is Flag Day. So let's all get the flag out and flying. This is especially important in this time of unrest and uncertainity.

Show the colors, be patriotic.

Mine too, usually the National Ensign and a US Navy flag, both 3'x5'. But today, it's only the National Ensign, holiday colors (the big one, 5'x9.5').

Every day! I think I'll put out a couple more small ones out front.

Mine's out 24 hours a day.  My solar powered spot;ight just dies but I have inough yard lightsd near it to light it up each night until I get a new spotlight.

I also have three worn out flags to get rid of since I just put out a new flag.

I rmeember they taught us in basic that you do not wear clothes that look like the flagthat wouild be disrespectful.  I guess that this too has passed.

Ikar... I fold my old flags properly and take them to the local American Legion.  They have a ceremony every year to properly and honorably dispose them.

Have a new 20ft pole to install, will fly both U.S. and POW/MIA flags 24/7 with lights.
