Hey Pawel, haven't heard from you for some time.
The Connie is a EC-121 from 961st squadron assigned to our base at Korat R.T.A.F.B. in 1974. I had to be careful taking pictures of these because it was on the list of restricted things we weren't supposed to shoot. There is a A.D.C. badge on the tail, and eventually these guys went home and were trained on the new AWACS aircraft and ended up being assingned to Kadena not long after I got there.
The F-4E was taken at the same base and was assigned to the 34th T.F.S. 388th T.F.W. in 1974. Later in the year they were ordered to give up their aircraft and turn them over to the 8th T.F.W. and start using their "D' models. They were not hapy about this at all but returned with the older ships, including #463 which by this time added a drone kill to its 6 mig kills. I never heard the story about thaqt, most people didn't like talking to people from our squadron.
The E2C I caught one morning just before I got off duty at Little Rock A.F.B.
As for the cigar guy, we lost our Commander at Little Rock and for a while, until a Police commander became available, we got him. He was a C-130 pilot who had been temporally grounded and was given the job of having to handle us. As I remember, he worked out pretty well as the job.
When I took this shot we were having a training day in place of one of our two days off that week. We were taking a break from what ever it was we were doing and it look like a great pose, so I took the shot.
As for Hueys, I only have a couple.;
Most of the time where we were assigned, there were H-3s, H-53s, and the ever popular H-43 Pedros. Visiting would be Skycranes, Seasprites, and a few other things. The Hueys were used mostly to transport people and things to the missle fields and back and the rare mercy missions. Taking their pictures was not advised.
