Excellent customer service.
Posted by Bish on Monday, September 15, 2014 12:08 PM

Last month I bought an HPH 1/18th DB 605 engine direct from HPH in the Cezch republic. Just over a week ago I was checking in the box and realised the PE fret was missing. It had come in the box and I remembered that after I had put the kit in the shed I had found the PE fret on my bench and put it some where 'safe' for now. After 3 days od searching I could find it, so I e-mailed HPH and asked if it would be possible to purchase a replacement.

I didn't get a reply from them, but today, a week after sending the e-mail, the replacement was here, no questions asked. I love customer service like this, it certainly seems common in Eastern Europe, I had the same experience with Aires a couple of years ago.

So well done HPH. They might be quiet, but they are certainly efficient.

Aires does have good customer service. I am finally starting my Stuka and noticed a few pieces missing from my aires set. I emailed them about it and got a promp response asking for my address. Hasegawa is good as well for obtaining replacement parts, though they may charge a small fee.

I think it is good to share positive customer service experiences. IMO, the companies who provide it deserve the mention (which is likely why you posted this)

Thanks for sharing this, Bish.

In deed it is Greg. I did post my experience at the time with Aires. But I do feel its important to give our positive experiences as well as the negative.

And I am really glad it ended well, I really want this engine to be the best it can be and had no idea what I would do if I didn't hear back from them.

Tom, that's exactly what Aires did with me. And funnily enough, it was for a Stuka. I was doing an Academy 72nd 87G-1 with the full Aires set. I have painted and put together the IP then lost it. They soon sent me a replacement fret once they got my address.

Lucky you didn't need anything from Academy cause they ignore your requests.

Italeri are the same PJ. There's certainly a mix of good and bad. And the god seem very good and the bad at the other end of the scale.

I do believe I've mentioned this before . If so ignore me . I was building , Well , still am , The Trumpeter -  U.S.S. North Carolina and totally messed up some of the P.E. Parts , namely the radars which were the EDUARD sets .

I wrote them and requested a price on that fret full of parts alone . Lo , and behold , two weeks later , what arrives in the mail ? Two full sets ! I called the contact number to tell them .The party listened patiently and then said that was okay , build a good ship model ! No Charge for the stuff they sent !

tanker, thank you for sharing that. It certainly seems to be common practice amongst the east European companies. I have not had to contact Eduard so far, but nice to know I will get good service if I do.

That's good to hear Tom, and more importantly, you can get on with the Stuka, really looking forward to seeing that.

Thanks, Bish. Lot's of incredible work going on in your GB. Time for me to join in! My plan is to get the Stuka done by January 1, and then on to the 109 GB.

Oh. That replacement from Aires included not one, but two, replacement sprues. Kudos to them!
