Dont know what to use for clear cost over acrylic.

You can spray either clear lacquer (Testors dull coat) or acrylic (MM clear flat). The lacquer will not damage the cured acrylic because is sprayed on and dries very quick. I use it all the time. I recently started using Alclad Flat Kote.

I use Testors Lacquer or Vallejo,they both work fine.
