Has anyone else tried Monzo, the virtual model-building app for Android and iOS?
You assemble, paint, and decal virtual model kits that are 3D-rendered on-screen. There are "in house" Monzo-branded virtual kits to choose from, but you can also purchase virtual kits from Revell. Although the model kits are virtual, the money isn't — and some of the virtual kits cost nearly as much as the real kits.
Before I saw the in-app pricing, my first thought was, "What a neat way to kill some time while waiting in line somewhere or sitting on a train!" Plus, there's the added benefit of testing out the assembly of a Revell kit you might want to build in real life. But once I saw the pricing, I thought, "No way in heck am I going to spend as much on a virtual kit as a real one!" Sure, a real kit requires lots of extras — paints, tools, glues, blood, sweat, etc. — that add to the cost, but still, I can't get myself to spend $10-$20 on a virtual kit!
Anyway, I'm curious if anyone else here has tried it.
