DeAgostini ModelSpace models
Posted by burnside63 on Friday, March 27, 2015 6:05 AM
Has anyone out there built one, or more, of the models offered by DeAgostini. They are grossly expensive and I do not see how the models justify the costs. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi ;

     While I haven't built or bought one I can say this though .They are following a format made possible years ago with some wooden ship models .

     You could buy say , an H.M.S. Victory or just the model that is a slice if her . These were not cheap and the ones I've seen are not for beginners .

    I have seen the Film model of the Millenium Falcon that's on their site now  . It isn't small and has a full interior and cockpit area . Their cars on the whole are on par with the ones that Pocher used to manufacture . I hope this helps you some .

  Now , the nice thing here is this . If they are sticking to this format then you pays for what you get and you don't have to build the whole model if you feel it's overwhelming you . If it is , Stop where you are and admire what you built .        Tanker - Builder

Yeah But :

 You know that as well as I do Folks will buy into it anyway . There was another such program offered years ago by POCHER itself . .You could buy the engine for say a 1934 Mercedes SSK and then The Frame and Suspension then the Wire wheels  , ad infinitum .  The Kit wound up costing $ 1,800.00 back then !

Seems expensive - and it is - but check out this studio-scale replica. Next to it, the DeAgostini version seems almost reasonable. Almost.
