Joe, I actually just took a trip out to National Airforce Museum in Ohio last weekend and saw her in all her beauty! But she was behind a rope, basically telling me "you can look but touching is gonna cost ya something"...like a trip to the the Dayton town jail I suspect!

Oh yeah....hundreds!  Here is thread that has a lot of stashes to be seen.  Scroll down about 1/4 of the way and you can see my post.  That was before the big estate sale I stumbled across!  When I say big, I bought about an additional 150 kits!  When I finally get my stuff shipped to Florida, I'll shot a pic to you with all the boxes of kits and then after I get them shelved!  Have you been to a model show yet?  Woah mama!  Vendors with really good deals!  Bad, very bad!  LOL!

I'm not sure what it is, but I think it may be the curves on those beautiful sprues and the smell of fresh plastic in the morning, and looking at all those kits thinking one day I'll get to them? Trumpeter has a new locomotive, I'll be right back...

I have had the pure pleasure of meeting up with Eagle90  and Plasticjunkie face-to face at the Modelpaloosa in Orlando and aquired 2 new BFF's in the process. 

 I mean to tell ya that ,this beiing his first big show, Eagle looked like a homeless guy gazing in the window of a Bakery and I actually saw a little drool in the corner of his mouth.  His eyes  where so glazed over, I swear he must have put Future in his Visene bottle and his fists where constantly clenching and unclenching, clenching and unclenching.  He'd take off down an aisle of vendors and 20 minutes later we'd have to help him take ANOTHER  load to the car.  I actually offered him the use of my full-sized van so he was able  pack more kits home.  He handed me a beautiful 1/48 F-111e from the middle of the stack he was carrying ( I still don't know how he did that with both hands full ) so I would shut up. Whew !  talk about a stash !  Happy Modeling Bro.

Contractors would do well if they set up booths in those shows advertising their skill at adding new rooms to houses..............

Thats our excuse and we are sticking to it.

But it is somthing to consider. Especially for kits from smaller companies. There have been a couple of times i have put off buying a kit an dthen ended up paying throug the nose for it on e-bay.

OMG....I laughed so hard!  That is just about how it happened to Jay Jay!  LOL!

See Joe, a really great bunch of folks here on the forums.  And seriously, if you ever get the chance to go to a show...do it!  Post which one you are going to also!  You never know who you'll get to meet.  I met Jay Jay and Plasticjunkie and had a blast!

I admire your will power for not buy the F-22.  But remember if you buy one and build it, you can still buy another and build it better.  And don't forget there are 187 ways to build it.

Gamera......first real love of my life was a gal that was 6 foot in stockings and wore 4 inch heels, and hair in a big beehive (remember this was the late 60's) and was 200 lbs, not an ounce wasted.  Only problem was her husband was arund 6-3, about 240 lbs, an ex-army DI, about 3 feet across the shoulders and about a 1'4 inch between the eyes and no sense of humor.

Ah well, life went on.......  Had to laugh at the comparison, brought back some memories.

Hobby Lobby sometimes will have a table with kits marked way down.I recently picked up the Revell (ex-Monogram/Aurora) 1/48th A-7A Corsair kit for $7.00.And model shows / swap meets! I went to one this past weekend in Sharonville,Ohio (I live nearby) and my spending ceiling rose from $50.00 to over a $100.00 by the time my wife and I left. Good deals galore and a thinner wallet in the process. As the other members have said,your skills will improve over time and you'll be surprised just how rapidly that happens. Most of all have fun and you've entered a hobby that has sunk its fangs in deep!
