More types than you think. Especially in the early days of the USAF thru the mid 60s. No more fast movers after the Century series, but even today the SAR copters use the probe & drogue off C-130s. The F-100, F-104C, some F-105 had a retractable probe, Some F-101s also had a retractacble probe, The B-66, HH-3 and HH-53 Jolly Greens, F-5A/C, some F-84s had wing tip tank probes...
Oh that is a sweet looking -104! Glad to see you were able to dust off the cobwebs and fire up the ol' airbrush. Are the cobwebs indicative of how long it's been since you've worked on a kit or just how long it's been since you last airbrushed? Or perhaps both?

A good illustration above with the prop driven B-50 based tanker refueling three jet powered aircraft at once. Notice that the B-50 is in a shallow dive probably at full throttle while the jets are at near stall with noses up. As a kid I did witness this a few times with the B-50 refueling a B-47. This problem sped up the development of the jet powered tanker. Notice the tanker also has two auxillary jet engines. Cool picture for sure.

Thank you Eric. The cobwebs are indicative of how long since I last airbrushed. Not since around the end of last year...
I have done a bit of gluing, and handbrushing on a few projects, including this one, between then and now. But no airbrushing. I am really itching to finish this 104 up...

I feel for you. I have not done any modeling (except for cleaning up the work area) since February! I just hit a brick wall and lost enthusiasm. I'm in two group builds and the models are just sitting there gathering dust (no cobwebs yet).
I need inspiration!
