How to use Mr Surfacer 1000 (rattle can)

Do you have to thin it or do you use it straight out of the can. I've heard that Lacquers can damage plastic. Can Mr Surfacer 1000 damage my kit (given it's a lacquer primer)?

I use 1200 in the rattlecan,I spray it right on plastic,no problems, use light misting coats, not too close. 1000 is heavier, spray light coats so as not to obscure details or puddle

Are you asking about decanting to spray in the ab? If so then no thinning is needed. And yes its safe to use on the plastic.

I have a rattle can of Mr Surfacer 1000 from my local hobby shop in SYD. I think it mgiht be a bit too thick. I was trying to say is it thin enough right out of the can?

We've already answered your question. Mr. Surfacer is good stuff and yes, you can spray straight out of the can. The key is spray in several light coats.

It is pre thinned and ready to go otherwise it will not cycle in the rattle can. As sheep said, apply light coats to avoid heavy buildup as when using any rattle can.

So you push on the can with your finger lightly to spray light coats?
