JERSEYCON Show October 19th and 17th
Posted by Panzergoth on Monday, October 12, 2009 9:55 PM
I was wondering if anyone from the forums is planning to attend the Jerseycon show this weekend. I know that there was a contingent present at AMPSEAST but was not aware of who was who until after the fact once I saw photos. Jim R.

I'll meet you guys there at noon. I'm not familiar with the venue so I can't really name a specific location. Maybe the registration table? I'll be there around 11 to register my model. Course, I don't know really what any of you look like, except for a few pics from the AmpsEast show.

Well, that show was a dud.  show room was small, and the vendors were almost exclusivly aircraft and boats, very limited armor except for that one table at the entrance that was selling the stuff for retail price...

I thought it was a decent show with most subjects getting great representation. Vendors don't bother me cuz I don't buy much there any how, though I did pick up 2 aircraft kits for 2 dollars. Albeit, they were older kits but should still be fun to work on. It was my first entry into a contest and though I didn't place in my category, I'll just have to try harder next time! Good show, and congrats to those of you who did bring some hardware home!

What kit was yours?

See first convention I was ever at was mosquito con, there were people there with a venor table selling kits for SUPER cheap, like seriously cheap.  I got rare stuff I hadent seen before, and stuff I had been after and got extras, like a Emhar whippit tank that had AM tracks in the box, but this one, it was all normal stuff and no real deals except the one guy with paint, I should have bought all of it, 3 bottles for 2$ holy crap.

the only thing that caught my eye but I didnt feel like going for it, was one vendor had 1/35th scale midevil japanese village people kits but the details on the faces and such were to soft for my liking

I built the rusty old 1968 Firebird 400. I got smoked in that category by the Ferarri which was really good. I wonder if the judges have a preference for clean cars....mine was quite an eye sore! I'm generally an armor and aircraft builder so it was kinda funny that my first contest entry was an auto. But I'm addicted to the thrill so I'll have to put something together for the next show. What kits did you enter?
