Are we logging in every time?
Posted by plasticjunkie on Monday, February 29, 2016 5:17 PM

I've noticed that specially on my phone, I have to constantly log in even though I have checked the "keep me logged" box. It happens on my computer too and I have not changed any of my settings. Sometimes it happens going from one thread to another and it's getting to be annoying.

Apparently one of their recent system tweaks has caused an issue. Check these threads:

Funny you should ask, PJ. I was just logging into the site for the fourth time today, when I saw your post! Something has changed, but not sure if it's on purpose or a anomaly.

I'm always logging in constantly every time - even with Keep me logged in box checked off. It's getting a bit ridiculous.

Thanks gents for your input as I thought I was doing something wrong. So I see I'm not the only one with this issue so  Mr. Moderator, can we please get this fixed?

Aaron answered this in the Announcements Section 4th post down.  Doesn't sound like a "fix" is coming.

Jim

I just read that post but there are a couple of other threads where guys say they can't change their passwords and they still have the problem after calling and finally updating their accounts. I still have my old password which works fine, except for having to log in every time into this "new and improved" site.

I went from having this problem to not being able to log in at all. Then I tried a different browser, and I could log in but not stay logged in. After changing my settings in Internet Options I am back to using IE and it is keeping me logged in.

So far.

Vista stinks? LOL! Not if you knew how much hard drive and memory is required to run smoothly. I used to have Vista Ultimate and it ran like a charm. Sadly, that PC's (my second one) motherboard ended up getting fried. Want to know the secret how? I ended up getting the maximum reccommended amount of hard drive space and memory. At least Vista was better than Windows 8. I also had Millenium Me on my first PC - another great OS where I had ZERO issues whatsoever.

I will be calling later today cause I cannot update my account. It will not take any of my information even though I used my old password to log on to the forum. Tongue Tied

My account number, name, email address and  DNA weren't recognized. This is what usually happens when you try to fix something that is not broke.

I don't think so Mustang as too many members are having the same issue. I'm hopeful the problems will be corrected.

I've noticed you have to log in each day regardless the box is checked to stay logged in. Sometimes I have to log back in later on in the day. Ridiculous....

I am using Mozilla Firefox.  I did have to log in one day recently, but after checking the "stay logged in" box, I have not had to log in again.  It may be a browser issue.

Me too. If I browse on my phone I have to log in. Then if I use my Kindle I have to log in again. And then repeat

Can't stay logged in and can't edit my profile.  Between these and Photobucket, I'm getting the feeling I'm not supposed to have this computer.  As an Old Fart that isn't really computer savy, this is getting a little perturbing to put it as gently as I know how.  Ditto on why do they always have to FIX something that isn't broken in the first place.

Jim

From one old fart to another, I know how you feel. I have a smart phone but it has a dumb operator.Dunce  and forget about computer things. I just know how to turn it on and off for the most part. I have to ask my daughter or son when it comes to computer and smart phone hicups. These young kids are computer whizzes. I gave up on Photobucket and moved over to ImageShack. What a difference!

Anywho, I spoke to the nice lady at customer service and she did her majic and now I have a new password. I also told her about the logging out issue and she stated they are aware of it and hopefully the bug will be found and fixed.

Looks like 4 hours later after updating my password and talking to FSM CS the re logging problem continues. It's getting to be a little annoying specially in between threads.
