Actually it should be in the various "FEEDBACK" forums.

But the mods do know about it, and for me the problem seemed to go away over the last weekend.

Still happening to me as of this past 48 hours. Again. They may know about it, but like may other items with the new forum formatting, still unresolved. WhistlingTime

Last week I had to reformat my computer. I've gone from Windows 10 back to 8.1. I've stayed logged on for at least a week now with no problems.

Do you access the forum every day, or do you go for a couple of days without accessing it?  For me, that seems to be the common factor, that I will go a couple of days without accessing it, and then, on trying to access the forum, I get prompted to log in, even though I always choose the feature to stay logged in.  During the week, when I access the forum every day, I'm not prompted to log in.

Sir, You are BEING PROMPTED to log in because of a bug between the software of the site, and the software used for certain browsers. This happens to me ALL THE TIME! Don't be discouraged. I use FireFox, and Opera for my browsers since gookle sucks, so I dumped it like the painful turd that it truly is!

On another note: this thread is in THE WRONG FORUM - it should be in the READY ROOM, not the GENERAL MODELING section. I too find this having to keep coming in every few days even after using the "Remember Me" option! Don't let this discourage you, people.

Thanks, Chris, no need to shout.  Yes, this is in the wrong forum, but I must respectfully disagree with you, the Ready Room and General Modeling are both wrong, too.  A couple of days ago, I added a thread in the Forum Feedback forum (please see my preceding post), and I crossreferenced this thread to that one.

Best regards,

Brad

I've added a thread for this in the feedback and testing forum:

http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/feedback_help_and_testing/f/39/t/170738.aspx

so the staff are alerted, if they haven't been already.

Yes, my desktop and laptop get logged off periodically for no apparent reason. Still no mobile access on my phone.

Sometimes Windows will automatically restart your computer when certain updates are installed causing you to clear passwords.

I thought of that, but I can rule that out.

For one thing, I received some Windows updates last week, and they had no impact on browsing at all, as far as I could tell.  The next day, I accessed the forum and didn't have to log on.

For another, I shut down my machine completely after every use (the Windows shutdown feature), and that's generally twice a day, once, when I leave work, and again at night, after my last use at home.  And again, after shutting down, and then logging in the next day, I was able to access the forum without being forced to log in, till yesterday.

I suspect that the issue is on Kalmbach's side, not on ours.

And to Morrison's point, yeah, it's not a big deal, and I'm not losing sleep over it.  It's just that it's a sign that something may not be working the way that it should.  I work in IT, including troubleshooting software application issues for my customers, and so, I can appreciate having good info about any issue, including the frequency at which something recurs.  Given that the host just made a change a little while ago (see http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/announcements/f/11/t/170138.aspx) it's very possible that this is a resulting bug.

OK, I was forced to log in again just now.  I accessed the forum last week from Monday through Friday, without having to log in.  I have not cleared my browser cache nor installed a new version of the browser.  I did get Windows updates last Thursday, but I was able to access the forum on Friday, without logging in.  So there is clearly still an issue with the "remember me" functionality.

When I accessed the forum today, I was prompted to log in.  I was last here on Friday.  I have not cleared my browser cache, neither has anything changed on my browser (Firefox), that I know of.  So, I suspect something on the website side of things.

After numerous log-in attempts and failures, a couple of e-mail inquiries and calls to Kalmbach for assistance, I too found out I have to put a check mark in the keep me logged in box as well. Never had to before and now I always get in. No mention of this was made until after everything else was tried.

OK, today was my first time accessing the forum since Friday, and I was forced to log in.  I select "Keep me logged in", so some process is deleting the cookie or whatever other cached record that stores my login for my sessions here.

I was also prompted to log in to another forum I belong to, but not to the rest, not eBay, either, or Amazon.   So, I don't think it's a browser issue, but it's hard to tell.  If I were getting prompted everywhere in cyberland today, I say it was 99% sure.  It may be an issue of the page's interaction with this particular version of the browsers we use.

Day three visiting and so far I have not had to log on to either computer I am using.  One is on Chrome and the other Firefox.

Me, either, today.  I'm watching to see how long it goes.

So far, I have to login after a reboot, on my system at work. Or, non use say over a weekend. My home computer seems to have me login roughly every three days or so. I haven't found a concrete schedule. Granted, it's not nearly as annoying as it was.

I was forced to, too, just now.  For me, it occurs every couple of visits to the forum.  It's a minor irritant, as such things go, nothing more.

The problem remained even after I called customer service and my account was updated with a stronger password. It appears the bug was finally fixed.

I've noticed that specially on my phone, I have to constantly log in even though I have checked the "keep me logged" box. It happens on my computer too and I have not changed any of my settings. Sometimes it happens going from one thread to another and it's getting to be annoying.

For the record, I've had to log in when returning to the forum, but not while navigating within the forum, and not consistently.  I use Firefox for my general Internet browsing, I currently have v44.0.2 installed.
