Now this is really left field!

Brengun is known for resin and PE detail sets, and has recently branched out to small injection molded kits, but this is quite a departure (Stick out tongue) for them in that it is a large kit of a subject not done by anybody else.  Maybe Herpa has some pre-built jetways for their 1/400 scale airliners.

So anyway, you get a bunch of plastic parts with some flash and mold parting lines, but overall good looking detail.

The instructions have the builder trim the mating edges of the two telescoping sections of the bridgeway.

It will kind of be a pain to precisely machine off such tiny amounts of plastic in a straight line, but the proof will be in the pudding.  I'll test fit and see if the parts will actually need remediation.

Now I just need to finish that Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 717... and a section of the interisland gate of the Honolulu International Airport!

Greysnake: That's one heck of a haul there, congrads!

Rob: Hope you build her soon. I ordered one of those but when Takom announced a kit of the T29 I canceled it and went with the Takom kit. I'm wondering how that HobbyBoss version builds.

Real G: Lol, I would be tempted to hook that boarding ramp up to your giant Asian murder hornet figure...

Steve - It's part of what I love about the hobby.  Finding weird and offbeat kits is one of my passions.  Plus I have a short attention span.  And I have a tendency to bother other kids.  It says so in all my school report cards.  Stick out tongue

Gamera - Those "murder hornets" are apparently catching flights to the Pacific Northwest according to the news.  Surprise  Hawaiian Airlines DOES fly to Washington and Oregon...

Tojo,

Look forward to seeing it built.  My latest order from Sprue Brothers arrived earlier this week.  The only thing worthy for here is the 1/72 Furball  Sundowner Anthology set.  It provides markings for each of the major markings changes (and a couple of minor ones) for the F-14A which it flew from 1978 to its decommissioning in 1995, for a total of 19 aircraft. According to the instructions, full markings for two aircraft are provided.  To do each aircraft profile depicted in the instructions, it looks like I'll need 2-3 more sets.  It looks like you can do about 6 aircraft per set if you use the kit decals for the common markings and stencils.

Tojo- that is a cute little bugger....did one for the Silly Egg GB last year.  Painted in orange and white with black stripes, ala tiger kitty.

The tracks are the only real issue, they won't sag on the top run unless they are glued down.

Boy oh boy.  I was on my way out the door to get to the airport and found a mystery package from a very dear friend on the forums.  I carefully opened the packaging and found these three gorgeous signed pieces of art of my favorite Luftwaffe aces!!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Hmmm   I believe the one on the left was signed by Rall himself.

Mind. BLOWN!!  What makes that even more special is the fact that Günther Rall is my favorite of all Aces.

Just ordered the Eduard office PE for the big Hellcat, and a set of Tom's PE for the Tamiya Fletcher.

As an aside I also spent almost a grand on a new Honda pump, hoses and small highbanker for my mining operation on my gold claims.

This isn't a very recent acquisition, but I thought it might be of interest to the airplane guys:

Although the scale is 1/20, it would look snazzy next to a 1/32 X-15.

And for the Gundam crowd:

This is an enemy MS from "Hathaway's Flash" (Senko no Hasaway), an upcoming 3-part movie.  The movie title has nothing to do with menopause - it refers to Hathaway Noah's brilliant but brief actions occuring after the events of "Char's Counterattack".  The meaning of the title has a bit of foreshadowing of events (sorry, I know how this story ends).

Anyway, the aesthetics of the MS kind of gets away from my personal tastes, but being a brand new kit, I was interested in the new jointing system Bandai employed in the body.

Oh yeah, and the Minion is Tim, my new avatar.  He's new too!  Big Smile

Airfix 1/72 Typhoon Ib, as a surprise for a friend whose dad served on a Typhoon squadron during the war.  This is the second one - after I'd built the first one I didn't want to give it away!  It's a beautiful little kit, and the option to open up the gun bays is a bonus in this scale.

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Nice acquisitions guys! I really like those signed art prints!!! Now those are sweet!

My gifted compressor from a few years ago gave up the ghost last week, so I got this dual use one earlier this week. I can use it for both airbrushing and garage tasks as well.

I just got in the "new" Hasegawa Betty. Basicly the 67 mold except grey instead of green and new "battle off Malaysia" decals (sinking of the Prince of Wales and Repulse).

Chad,

Nice score on the prints!

Stik,

Cool compressor.

Steve,

Are you going to build the Betty as is, or do you have other plans for her?

Stik...have the same compressor...works great for the air brush and runs a finish nailer just fine.  And at 60db, is quiet enough to use in the house without irritating the other half.

Buddy, I am going to build her as she was at the the battle off Malaysia. I have the older kit (same mold and more crude instructions with the additional Baca bomb) which I'm going to build as Bataan 2, the plane that flew the eight members of the surender delegation team.

This just popped in, right after hurricane Douglas passed us by!

With the COVID-19 business ongoing, only certain carriers like FedEx and DHL deliver from Japan.  So postage is way higher than I am used to paying, especially for oversize stuff like this.  But I got "lucky" since a couple of small but expensive items came into stock at the same time, so the pain got spread around to a more tolerable level (but still 50% of the total purchase).

I have NO idea where I'm going to put this...

Real G,

That is simply cool.  That will make an interesting build thread when you get to it.

Chad - Yes it is huge!  By far it is the craziest Gundam kit I will ever buy... pinkie promise.  Wink  The FAZZ simply flies right over the top of sensible design, in a fictitious world where EVERYTHING tries to go over the top!  Kind of makes me think of the "Can Hardly Walk, Man" spoof of the Walkman.

Lewbud -  Yeah it's gonna be a cra~zy build!  But it will be like eating an elephant - one bite at a time.

Gundam Sentinel is the coolest Gundam series without an anime tie-in (yet).  But almost all the designs are kinda crazy.  There is an enemy MS called the Xeku Zwei, which looks like it has a giant hamburger for a backpack, trailing another hamburger, which is in turn trailing two hot dogs!  Paint it all blue and you have a Xeku Zwei.  Stick out tongue

While not as epic as Real G's Gundam,. I did get a few things in over the last couple of days.  A set of canopy masks for a 1/72 T-6 (Trainer GB) and one for a 1/72 EA-6B.  Some 1/72 US numbers and letters in white and yellow.

I got a knock on my door this morning and found a box containing this when I opened it.

I had planned to order this from HLJ, but a couple of weeks ago they listed it as discontinued and took it off their site.  I googled to see if I could find out why Tamiya would have discontinued such a new release, and saw that HLJ had apparently gotten more in but were limiting the amount you could purchase to one per person.  This may move to the front of the pile, but I'm waiting on a carbon fiber decal set from HLJ, and a livery set from Indycals before I start this.

Hi,

This came in the mail for me yesterday from Shapeways.

FFG(X)

It's supposed to be the new USN FFG(X) and it looks pretty accurate to me, as far as I can tell.  I sprung for the 1/350 scale version, but opted for a waterline version only, to save some money. Stick out tongue
