I think I'll pass on the kiss and grab the Raid!  The Exoframe kit looks interesting.  I've seen them on HLJ, but haven't been tempted yet.  You're a good friend ordering kits for other people.  I had a friend that would place a monthly order with HLJ and I would pay him when the kit arrived.  There were a couple of times I had forgotten that I'd ordered something because it took so long to come in. I got something in the mail today, P-51 decals yay!  Decals are by a company called Armycast out of the Czech Republic.  The decals give you markings for 13 different countries: Bolivia, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Israel, New Zealand, El Salvador, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, and USA.  The set includes a vinyl mask for a shark mouthed Dominican aircraft, and a paper mask for a very colorful Guatemalan aircraft.  Also included in the set were a couple of resin antennas for the aircraft that had them.  The decals are printed on blue paper, which makes the white decals easier to see.  The instruction booklet is well done with side, top, and bottom views in color, as well as color call outs in FS and Guide Sangyo/Mr. Color paints.  The instructions give details for 18 aircraft from 13 different countries.  Looking at the decals, it looks like they give you enough decals to do every one in the instructions.  Here's a couple of pics.  Now if only my F-101B decals would get here from Australia.

Went to the LHS today because I forgot to get some Tamiya tape when I made my paint run yesterday.  Got the tape and picked this up because it looked interesting.  It's a Type 0 Model 52 Blackbird Autonomous Fighter from Star Blazers 2202.  I thought it was one kit, but when I got it home and opened it up, there are two fairly detailed kits in the box.  I'd guess that the scale is probably 1/144.

These came via the brown elves from Sprue Brothers.  The USS MUSTIN is for Steve's US Ships GB.

The Spit is for Bish's Supermarine GB.

Oh, oh all that cool stuff!!!

Love that MiG-23 Joe!!! I remember buying the ancient ESCI kit back in the '80s as I wanted a 'modern' Soviet fighter.

And that cool Dominican P-51/F-51 Lew- I love shark mouths!!!

And that murder hornet Real G- don't think I'd want one. If I saw that on the shelf every night it'd give me nightmares...

Not modeling related but a little fun- I picked up as a birthday present for myself the Arrow Complete Gamera Collection due my obsession with titanic terrapins:

All the original silly but fun kiddie movies from the '60s and '70s. They're all cleaned-up and enhanced for Blu-Ray. Plus commentaries.

The excellent '90s films- the best Kaiju movies I've ever seen. Yes, they're better than Godzilla.

And 'Gamera The Brave' the most recent film.

Plus a series of Gamera comic books- hardbound.

And a booklet of background/extras on all the films.

Gamera,

I like shark mouthed aircraft too.  There are three on this sheet Bolivia,Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.  Aztec Decals is coming out with a couple of sets for Central a South American Mustangs and there are several shark mouthed aircraft on them.  I hope they're not the same as the Armycast sheet.  Cool movies.

I remember seeing these and the Big, Bad, and Beautiful series collecting dust on Walmart shelves. Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have picked them up and held on to them. Some of these Monogram B-52's are selling for well over $100 on the secondary markets.

Where did you find that?  That's a cool kit.  Regarding the Spit that you and Steve said I'd like, I hope that's true because there's a shark mouthed Aussie bird and a colorful US bird that had been turned into a squadron hack after they converted to Mustangs that I want to build.

Lol, I've been watching turtle movies all week....

Chad: That looks cool! I remember those kits back in K-Mart when I was somewhat younger. Never thought they've be valuable... Never bought them since I never had the room for them. Hope you'll build them and post them here.

Lew, Chad, those are some great scores! I’m really loving that B-52. I remember seeing that BUFF at Edwards years ago...

Well, I finally have some acquisitions besides supplies worth posting. The other day this finally arrived. Purchased in early July from a vendor in Korea and free shipping, but man was that slow... but then again so is my building pace...

Now my basic 1/35 M60 tank family is complete....

Then this from a seller on eBay who I think buys kits then parts them out, the tracks are from a JGSDF Type 89 SPAAG, basicly their equivelant of a Gepard. But that system is built on a Type 74 hull, so they will work on my Type 74 tank kit. I don’t trust the gluable rubber band tracks and Model Kasten replacements are VERY pricey.

and lastly I picked up this decal set for my F6F-5 kit. I don’t care for the kit markings. The selling point was marking for a Hellcat flying off USS Enterprise during early 1945. But I need to research what I would need to do for a -5N conversion now.

I considered ordering another decal set but, I believe I'm going to use the kit set and just paint the car in an entirely different color.

Hi Lewbud. There was a bloke name of Clive Caldwell who flew with the squadron represented by your Spit. He was Australia's highest scoring ace in WWII and got himself into a spot of bother flying grog into U.S.A.F. bases in drop tanks and selling it. A least thats how the story goes.........

Oh those are cool! Really like the Academy M60A2 SP. Got to see a local museum drive a 'starship' over an old car a few years ago!

I like them all Joe,  especially the Flogger and Frank.

The Flogger always reminded me of a missile with the wings lolded. I've read that the Frank, with a tune up and good fuel, could out perform the Mustang.

I want to get a Tamiya 1/29 GT

So much goodness here - love to see the new aquisitions.  I've been poking around for a while for a good Fagot and I found this one online for a pretty good deal.  I'll line this Fagot up against my Sabre for a side by side

Thanks,

John
