This is my Christmas haul.

The Walrus I knew I was getting. I bought it a couple months back for myself for Christmas and my wife paid me for it and put it under the tree.

I got the USS Freedom LCS for my SS gift.

And when I delivered the Gee Bee to my friend, he gave me the Z to build, plus he gave my his original of Rommel. He is Lonnie Ortaga, an aviation artist.

That's cool Nick. I remember watching that movie for the first time on TV in the 60's as a kid. I hid behind the couch.

I've since watched it many many times and own the CD.

That'll be an awesome display.

Thanks MW20. It was truly a surprize to receive it.

These came in today. A Christmas present for myself.

I love the Navy F-16 Aggressor.

Nice haul John.  Just out of curiosity, what's the red dot going on?

Steve,

You got a pretty interesting range of kits as well.

Going to play around with it on a couple .22s and maybe my M1A if I really like it.

Thanks,

John

Steve. The J35 is on my bucket list if builds. I'm thinking of ordering the light kit for the martian machine. I love the 53 classic the new one not so much.

John. Red dot are a lot of fun if you can find a place to plink...

Here are my latest acquisitions.

From my Secret Santa.

Photoetch and canopy mask are on the way from Sprue Brothers.

And for something completely different. Clear carbon fiber decals from Scale Motorsports.  They allow you to create a colored carbon fiber effect.

Also from Scale Motorsports a sheet of their 1/24 Kevlar Basket Weave decal paper.  I was hoping to duplicate the yellow basket weave kevlar found in the Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 or Delta S4, but this is more bronze than yellow.

I also have a box on a slow airplane from Japan on the way. In it are a Hasegawa 1/24 BMW 2002 Rallye Car and a Revell F-16 in Tiger Meet Markings.

Delivered today - this one looks way better than the Hasegawa kit I just finished.  Worthy of the Polish 303 decals I bought.  Oddly enough this kit comes with one of the 303 pilots that died on the day of the decals that commerate him.  The kit includes 303 squadron flown by Sgt. Tadeusz Andruszkow September 27th 1940 which is the day he died.  He had 1.5 kills.  I'd like to know the story behind this pilot and why Airfix memorialized him.

Thanks,

John

Not sure why Airfix picked his aircraft, maybe because he was killed defending the skies of Britian. But here is a bit of info about him.

http://www.bbm.org.uk/airmen/Andruszkow.htm

Assuming that He 111 going down in flames is his kill, that was the day before he died.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Thanks Bish - I looked up his service as well.  Just curious as most model companies offer kits of aces etc.  Poor kid had a short life - seems out of the norm for kits.  I'll offer the decals to anyone who wants them as I want to do the mount of Witold Urbanowicz - no disrespect to this short lived pilot.

Thanks,

John

Sweet additions guys.

I'm really liking the Tiger Meet markings Buddy. I may just start getting some to do.

John, love the Hurry. It has always been my favorite British fighter. Oddly enough I just have 2 in the stash. Both 1/72 from Arma Hobby.
