It's really straight forward.  And you can look at the process in your kit instructions as Tamiya calls out the Detail Up parts instructions along side the regular kit instructions.  Look for DP

Thanks,

My new lady has been going through the mobile home we have, clearing out the wife's hoarding issues (passed on 3 years ago).  She came across a couple of NASCAR kits from back when, #28 Havoline ride of Davy Allison and the #9 Bill Elliot Coors ride, with the Coors decals.

Also found and old Ertl, 1/25 Pete 359 with the diecast frame and running gear.  I'll have to get some pics and build that one.

It's been a good while since I've been able to check in and see what everyone has been adding to their stash. Must say, I am immensely impressed with what folks have been finding. I feel bad that I've not been able to keep up and acknowledge everyone's additions. In about month I should be clear of the major obligations in my life and free up some time for myself. Very much looking forward to that.

So, while bemoaning my lack of quality bench time, I have added some fine kits and accessories to my stack of longing.

These were picked up via FB auctions:

Got this sweet 1/48 A-4 off ebay for $20.00:

Then, I acquired this nice gem during Squadron Shops free shipping sale. Appears to be a really nice kit with excellent detail along with low parts count.

And then there is my new major acquisition. I have been searching for a sizeable display case for reasonable cost for as long as I can remember. The main feature I've been looking for is something big enough to display some of my future large scale builds. Namely my 1/48 Mongram/Pro Modeler PBY Catalinas. I finally found this on our local classified ads. I was able to immediately sell off my smaller display cabinets to make some $$ and room for this. I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to have found this.

Thanks for looking at my new stuff and I'mlooking forward to each of yours.

Uh-oh,

You better be careful.  That case may be haunted.  I think I see a ghost inside it in the picture Surprise

Well the postman brought me these two goodies that I picked up from an English eBay seller. I love the fact that Airwaves does sets for older kits.

Wanted to practice working with Resin before I got started on my huge SwissP-51 project for competition, so when I was at the hobby shop picking up some Alclad's I grabbed this baby for only $5. Kit is predicably bad, but the subject is interesting enough, and the resin by true details is beautiful.

I "actually " got permission from SWMBO to go to Hobby Lobby today.

I cleaned them out of what little paint was left.

Got some casting supply's too.

And other than the Revell Porch 914 kit, This was the ONLY clearence kit left.

Retail price would have been $128.83.

My cost ... $35.40

Gotta make sure and be there next year about the same time .....

I'm gonna "Clean Them Out !!!

Almost all the parts have been collected now for a RAAF KC-30A. Just waiting for Ronin Decals to release their new decal set and I'll be good to go. The resin pieces for the conversion are by Defence Models Australia.

So that is what the Airbus offring of the tanker they wanted to sell to the U.S. pretty cool. Gotta say glad we went with the 767 version. Only from a patriotic standpoint, no harmful intent intended.

Sold my bench

You scared me there for a sec Johnny, then I continued reading. Nice score.

I built the T-2 a few years back. Nice little kit.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

LittleTimmy, I keep seeing the price tag of your Torino, they really wanted a 139.00 for the kit? For that price it had better came with Clint Eastwood and a bad mood. You did get a good deal on it.
