Thanks everyone, tune into the Coral Sea and Midway Group Builds for any updates as that is why I acquired these.

I actually bought some new kits for some GBs coming up.  They just arrived a few minutes ago while I was on my much break.

This is kinda like the serious Naval modellers equivalent of Airfix's "dogfight doubles"

I recently attended my first IPMS show in Seattle with my son.  We both had a great time.  There were so many amazing pieces.  Anyways this is what $85 got me...  The old airfix spit was a gift that one of the vendors so generously gave to my son.

Holy smokes, Joe! That is a haul!! Nice variety of subjects.

Impressive Joe! You keep going and you're gonna need a bigger bus. lolol

Thanks Joe, Although I've added quite a bit to my stash, I have managed to keep it down enough that I am able to store all my kits in the man hangar. This is now a necessity as the wife unit has taken up all available space in the storage bus that I created as I moved boxes of models out. Lol!

No photos, but my last kit purchases were the 1/48 P-40B kits by Airfix and Bronco.  I haven't started them yet, but I was curious to see the Airfix kit--I think it's a great kit, the detractors can all cram it with walnuts--and to build them both side-by-side with one of my Monogram P-40Bs.

My latest acquisitions overall are a bunch of 54mm figure kits, for my Seven Years War collection, and some out-of-print Hecker & Goros Bavarian civilians in Tracht (ie, their native folk dress-men in Lederhosen, ladies in Dirndls) for another collection I have.  My gray army is bigger than my model kit stash.

Best regards,

Brad

@Tojo, how do you like the Meng M1?

Looks good in the box,my experience with their T-90 encouraged me to go for this one,and it was only $54 including shipping.

Wow! Great topic Tojo and excellent discussion and kits. I hope this one lasts for some time.

I regret that I haven't been very active on here for a few months but, it's nice to pop in and find a fun topic to get back into the swing of things with everyone.

For about the past year I've embarked on "refining" or "retooling" my stash. I had about a 100 kits boxed in storage along with others that I knew that I would never get around to building. They were either old kits that were outdated for my standards or were subjects that just no longer peaked my interest. Some of those kits were ones that I had from high school. As such, I began selling/auctioning/trading them to downsize my stash and to flip them in order to enhance my stash with more desireable kits. I must say that I have met with great success in my endeavors this far. Well, success in getting kits that I really want and not so much in downsizing. LOL! I've also invested quite a bit in AM stuff to go with my new kits as well as some of my existing kits. This biggest change to my stash was obtaining more 1/72 aircraft and offing a number of 1/48. This was to accomodate my lack of display space as well as rather enjoying building in 1/72.

So, with all that said, I'll provide pics of most of the kits I've obtained since X-mas.

I bought myself the 1/200 USS Gato with my X-mas cash. Really a sweet kit and I hope to get to it very soon.

My venture into 1/144:

Some new armor:

Needless to say I've got my hands on a variety of subjects. Grown my collection of jets a good bit also. I'll be posting my birthday goods here right directly as soon as they arrive. They're very nice.Big Smile

Cheers everyone. Tis' good to be chatting with you all again.

Oh my Mustang, I wonder if the people who onw that car will ever see it in model form. What a trip that would be.

I use to work at Addison Airport and live in Carrolton way back in 82-83. I remember Trinity Mills....and the Addison Police Department's Volvos for cruisers. At least I think I remember them as Volvos

I've always wanted to go to Eagle Quest. I even worked just around the corner at what was then Vista Ridge Buick / Pontiac / GMC at what was then Trinity Mills Road. It's now the George W. Bush Turnpike and that same dealership is still there under the name of Classic Buick/ GMC. One of deez dayz.............

Last year, while I was in San Antonio visiting my wife in rehab after her aneurysm, my son and I took a quick trip to Walmart to gather some supplies for her on the trip back home and to grab and quick bite to eat at McDonalds inside (Yuck) . Some of you may remember this but on our way back out to the car I saw this and immediately the wheels started turning in my head. I quickly grabbed a couple of reference shots. (I wish I could find this car to get more now but hey, I at least got a couple). I just had to make this one come to life.

That sounds cool. I wish we had big shows close to us in Boise.

When I was in Vermont, we had one show a year and the vendors totaled 5 or 6....and that included me!  LOL!  They were great little shows that were held in Plattsburgh, NY or somewhere in Vermont.  Really had a good time at them.  But when I went to Modelpalooza for the first time!  WOAH!  It was a sensory overload!  LOL!  The show in Venice is a really good size one too.  Lots of vendors and some super builds!  I think the Pelicon will be just as big if not bigger from what I'm seeing.  The Modelpalooza and Peilcon shows are 2 day shows.  Going to try and do both days this year!

When I go to Dallas in June I will be going to Squadron's Eagle Quest. I'm sure there will be vendors there. My wife gets bit by the bug for me as bad as I do so maybe I can come out of it with a few more.

Steve,

You won't be dissapointed, make sure you have plenty of room to take stuff back home.  The past two times I attended, Squadron opened the warehouse to us and had insane markdowns.  That 1/32 Roden SE5a I am building for the RAF GB I got for like $11.

I won't make it this year to Eaglequest, but will be in FlowerMound June 3rd for the North Central Texas Scalefest.  Its a nice show as well where I got some great deals in the past.

I've been using my 105 for a while now and sent it to Badger because it was spitting. Badger turned it around in about a week and replaced the needle bearing free of charge. I am so happy to have it back in my hands.

It's pretty hard to beat Badgers customer service. I sent in "old faithful" , my old Badger 200 for service and they returned it in tip top shape. I felt the same way you did in being glad it was back "home" . lol

Ohhh, nice hauls folks!

Bucksco: That's awesome, I had no idea they even did a figure of that character!

MCF: You might want to check around before you build that Enterprise. I don't think it has much collector value but it's probably worth finding out for sure.
