Nice trio!  I recall seeing the starwars dio and the merkava but what is the other tank?

John,

It's a Japanese Type 4 Chi-To medium tank. It was design to compete against a Sherman, however, only 4 were built, and none saw combat.

 Bruce

On the bench:  1/48 Eduard MiG-21MF

                        1/35 Takom Merkava Mk.I

Nice job Bruce.

I thought the exhaust port was "only 2 meters wide", that looks more like 4 Big Smile

I was thinking the same thing... Wink

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

These three were shelf of doom rescues that I’d either messed up on or lost parts to.

Tamiya 1/35 Jagdpanzer 38t. Not happy with the ambush scheme at least it’s done.
Dragon 1/35 Tiger I Ausf. E Late production built as an inaccurate Wittmann’s command Tiger. Just made mistake after mistake on this kit and the instructions didn’t help. I finally got to the point of finishing it just to get it off the shelf.

Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II Ausf. C. This is the only one out of the three I’m sort of happy with. The Tamiya decals really fought me and as look as you don’t look at the rear of the turret it’s an alright looking model.

Templar - is that an Opal Blitz?

Sorry Dog don't know about the Blitz. The Olympia was a attempt to copy a sculpture of it that I saw in Ca. Just hit me as a static object subjected to time. It's posted. Thanks for the comments.

Templar - is that an Opal Blitz?  Built a 1/72 version ages ago.  Very nice.  I've always thought the BMP was a cool looking vehichle nice work.  And man, that Olympia has seen better days ;)  Really nice work on the heavy weathering

Mark - Seaview looks super - really like the base.  That voyager probe is on my wish list and it looks like you got the PE kit as well - fantastic.

Thanks,

John

I can remember just two of the last models I attempted to build back in the late 80's before I stopped building them.

  • 1:35 LAV-25 Piranha
  • 1/18 Scale APC Vehicle (Aliens)

I remeber melting a long section of the plastic tree in order to create the long antennas for the LAV

Stick, those are just stunning builds Surprise

Templar, you have some great looking stuff as well. I love the little cargo truch and the Olympia looks fantastic in rust camo intsead of it's usual white and spar color.

Thanks John. I finished the BTR last spring/summer, so it’s been awhile. The X-Wing in late Fall when I was going stir crazy at having all my stash aNd supplies pretty much packed to move. All my other builds last year were armor, so that’s why I kicked off this year with the A-7.

My last three, I've re-opened the cabin as our house move is on hold due to the Covid-19 lockdown, so two snap kits and a seaplane......

Rick, seeing that Hawk SBD put a smile on my face. Many happy childhood memories are wrapped up right there in your build!
