You left out some details, such as was everything in stock when you put the order in? 

Also, as has been already asked, are you talking about the American shop Hobbylinc (note spelling), or the Asian webstore HobbyLinkJapan - neither of these are afiliated with one another btw.

If it was HLJ, I've had no problem with shipping time, it says right on the product's page whether it is in stock or not, and how long it would be before available.

The American shop, I've not dealt with, I find on average better prices elsewhere...

Ditto, HLJ is an awesome organization run by an American named Scott Hards in Japan. He used to frequent the old USENET newsgroup rec.models.scale. and provided an avenue for American modelers to obtain hard-to-get Japanese models.

As far as Hobbylinc, not sure about that online store. Many online stores don't carry a lot of inventory. They order items from their distributor once an order is placed with them. Order something they carry, and you get it fairly quickly. Order something they have to order, and it may take a while, especially if the item comes from overseas.

And I've ordered from both. Hobbylinc (Georgia) filled my order correctly but shipping was slow. I have a real problem with slow shipping. Amazon has spoiled me.

I ordered a vintage car kit at a crazy low price from Hobbylink Japan and expected nothing. Got a nicely packaged perfect vintage kit I'll probably never build. Took several weeks just like Sheep said, and worth every single day of the wait.

So either spelling, expect slow shipping I think.

Here’s what a lot of folks don’t realize when ordering paints from overseas - especially Japan. They’re shipped by slow boat. Paints, be it enamels, acrylics, & lacquer CANNOT be shipped via air due to their flammable nature. 

I have ordered paint from Plaza Japan and waited 3 weeks for it to arrive. So AARDVARK, it’s not uncoomon (although it is expected) to wait that long for a bottle of paint ordered from Japan to arrive in that length of time to your mailbox.

I have ordered from them several times, including paint items.

Their order processing is SLOW.  They are a family business and it takes them a long time.  On the other hand, their prices are as low as anywhere.

So, if you are will to accept the wait time - price trade off, order from them.  On the other hand if you need something tomorrow, go elsewhere.

Three weeks does seem a little long, even from them.  Have you contacted them?  Did they have the paint in stock?  Is the delay in shipping time (not their problem) or order processing?

My  worth. I have never ordered from that site so I don't know where it is. If it is outside the U.S.A. you will have to wait quite a while for paint to be delivered as most paints cannot be sent by air. Soooooooo, it takes a while for paints to get here from overseas. There's not too many truck stops out in the middle of the waters. Once they get to the states, they go by truck. So, from the shores to wherever you are takes a while too. If it was just kits, you'd get them faster as they can go by plane.

If you want it quicker, you'll have to pay a little more and order from a site in the states.

So, here's the lesson learned. For everyone still close enough to a local hobby shop, if you buy your models online, you will soon also be buying your paint online and waiting a long time for it to arrive sometimes. I don't know about AARDVARK's situation and I'm not accusing him of anything, but everyone should be aware that this is going to repeat itself many times as we lose what are left of our hobby shops if we won't pay the prices that keep them in business.

HobbyLink Japan, or a different vendor?

I have too. One time I was ordering a can of spray paint and a couple of model kits, and it took them over TWO WEEKS just to get it out of the warehouse!!! Thankfully I do not do much online shopping, so the shipping is not too big of a problem...
