Spare parts stash
Posted by dogzilla17 on Monday, October 4, 2021 6:09 PM

Not sure this has been tried before- is there a central location for requesting spare parts from other community members?  I'm looking for part E18 from the dragon Pzkpfw IV C kit 6291- it may be an extra piece fo a Stug IV

Thanks!

Dog, you can post a request on the appropriate page.  If someone has it, you can workout the details via PM.

The armor section would be the place to post your question. As for the 2nd part, no it is not outside of the confines to ask for or receive stuff from members. However as said those transactions should be kept to the PM feature.

Buying, selling, openly trading, or personal advertising is NOT allowed here at FSM.

Good luck with your search, with the info you gave if someone has it you might get it.

I've got some extra bits from Dragon kits, but I'd have to see a shot of the instructions before I'd be able to see if I have it.

Many Dragon kits have multiple lettered sprues from similar kits (like two sprue "E" from two different kits, but in the same kit).

Lots of time the sprues have almost all the parts as excess and unused.

I'm surprised FSM don't add a Trade / Wanted thread section. I know ModelCarsMag site has a thread link but they have only one strict rule - NO BUYING. I has been proven 100% successful as long as it's run correctly. I think this could be something Tim, Aaron, and Ms. Nash could or should look into. Doesn't hurt to put out a trial run and see how it goes.

I do understand they may not agree to it due to rules by Kalmbach Publishing. I guess it can be a slippery slope with possible foreseeable problems between two parties that may go sour with broken promises, miscommunications, and such.

Has been suggested several times before, and they don't have the time or resources to police it.

Just be happy you can request pieces out front and work out the details via PM.
