It lives! Metalizer Burnt Iron

Fortunately,I was able to grab a bunch of MM Metelizer from Spruebrothers before they finally sold out.

Looks like I have to go into town and check the hobby shop though I think I might be too late.

Tamiya is coming out with lacquer paints, maybe they have some in metallac colors and Revell has their line of paints but I haven't checked them yet.

So I grabbed my bottle of Metalizer burnt iron off the shelf a few days ago and was surpised to find a big hard rock inside, sort of resembling a real fat penny. It made a heck of a racket rattling around in their too!  I wondered what would happen if I fill the jar half way with lacquer thinner and let it sit. Well to my surprise it came back to life. Looks new. Have not tried to airbrush it yet, but it looks fine.  I did add a few drops of metalizer sealer to the bottle to give it some adhesion help -- not sure if that was smart or not at this point.. I'll give an update in a few days after I test it out...

Your right,Modelmaster came to my mind,but he actually didn't say !!

Alclad makes all those shades and are in current production.

I remember opening up a 25 year old tin of Humbrol French Blue enamel. It was extremely thick so just to see I added thinner and stirred and stirred and voila it came back to life again. It sprayed just fine and looked really good on the plane's tail till it dried up. The paint would come off if it was lightly rubbed.

Metalizer painters were manufactured by Testors's Model Master, which we know is long gone.
