Long time ago (about the 80's when I was a working slave) I used to have a chair on my desk just like yours, it was the same color, they are very confy!.

scottrc Thanks Keyserj. Got an empty pallet to work with now. Just laid the base coats for the floor sealant. Still really don't have a clue as to how I am going to lay my workspaces out. It's going slow with all the holiday activity and not having any time off from work. It feels and smells so clean, like a newly finished model. Man, I am missing my bench time.

Nice! Now you will have plenty of space for your work. We here in our neck of the woods (South Florida ) do not have the luxury of a basement, on the other hand, we do not have to suffer with the cold weather ( My house does not even have a heather system, we simply do not need it ). My workbench is a 2 x 4 table that I build myself, I have added a rolling cart with 8 drawers and that is the entire setup, so my space is limited.

Glad you gota new unit. I have to get one installed into my garage to. Then I can start building models again. But first I have to build a painf booth then practice using airbrushes. I am truely looking forward to that.
Awesome Scott! A really exiting time for you, and just think, if you are saving money with the new system, perhaps you will be able to add to the stash!

Thank you all for the nice replies. The new unit is going in today. It is so much smaller. I am looking forward to a lot lower engergy bill. I need money to build up my stash LOL.

Sounds like the first build should be the old P-38 racer "YIPPEE", to hang over the new unit. Goes along with the post title.

Ah yes,an old Homart,I used to try to coax a few more years of life out of them for customers in my old job.Good your replacing,you should notice a cheaper utility bill unless it gets swallowed up by inflation.
Try to get some sort of insurance as parts are more sophisticated and costly on the new stuff.

Yeah, my bench is next to my oil burner, too. The burner's a little newer, though, and it does keep it relatively warm in the winter.

About to say goodby to this old gal.
I have been on a list for about two years to get my HVAC replaced. My workshop has been like working in a boiler room next to our 1957 Homart furnace. Its was noisy, dirty, rusty, and dangerous. As of today, the contractors will be at my house and it will be replaced with a new system. In the meantime, I have gutted my basement workshop in anticipation of making a whole new arrangement. Starting this weekend, the entire basement will be stripped and re-sealed, then a top coat of fresh paint on the walls and a good sealant and coating will be put on the floor.
This is why I havn't been doing any building.

Behind all the junk is my old furnace
And now, today, my workshop is an empty shell ready for a new life.
The building inspector just finished his inspection.
