A friend has a "tradition" of starting a model on New Year's Eve, so I have also joined in, albeit with less success than he. I think I only ever finished ONE model within the month, an Academy Stuart.
Our office closes between Christmas and New Year, but no building was done most of the time due to obligations to that ancient Japanese tradition, handed down from generation to generation, of washing the window screens and jalousies. I wonder how they did it in the Edo Period, with their paper shoji doors...
So anyway, I started a little paper craft kit from the Miyazaki film "My Neighbor Totoro".
By 10:30 pm, I was getting tired, so here is where I stopped.
I had to stop anyway because I needed spray glue for the flocking on the trees. I also need to clean up my color pencil work on the little girls and the froggie.
“Ya ya ya, unicorn papoi!”
Real G-that looks like a neat, fun build that would be a refreshing change from the norm-looking forward to seeing pics after you get your spray glue.

Ditto on what Bob said above. That looks very interesting. I know a couple of guys that might like doing one of them, after I do one first.

Edit - Just checked out their site. They have some really nice kits that look like a lot of fun tp build.

I keep hitting "escape", but I'm still here.
I spent hours in the emergancy room, and first hour of new year, passing kidney stones!

I feel your pain! I've had 5 stones so far.

Awww Don, that sucks! I hope you feel better now.
Sorry to hear that Don! Hope you have a 100% & speedy recovery so you can get back to the workbench.
I hope you're better too Don. I have one about once a year or so. Usually they last for a few hours and pass. About a year ago I had one (or several I dunno) for six days. If it happens again I swear I'd just rather someone shoot me...
Real G: That's so cool! I've looked at those paper kits several times on HLJ but never pulled the trigger.

Real G that's awsome. Very very cool!!
Sorry to hear that Don. My wife is suffering with gall stones and has been told the gall bladder has to come out.

The trees got flocked last night:
There's plenty of leftover flocking to patch bald spots.
And...done!
Now back to the plastic models.
My wife and kid had that, no thanks.
For Ne had our annual pizza and then I worked on a model, then watched some T.V. and woke up about 3AM.
Pretty much normal.
Very nice job RG-I'm going to have to explore models like this one-not the norm and it looks like fun.
After presenting the completed Totoro diorama to my sis, she put it in a plastic case she bought from a Daiso store - they are like a dollar store chain in Japan, but now have two stores over here. The second one opened in the downtown area 2 blocks from my office.
Oh wow that's cool G! Good to hear your sister was happy with it!
