Once upon a time, there was a thread with a list of modeling and actual terminology used for military hardware. I think it's probably buried somewhere in the datebase here.

Okay everybody, so I came upon this idea, which I've decided to enbrace. I cordially invite someone else to do the same in some of the other genres, but I'm starting with SHIPS.

The idea is that I am putting together a downloadable file, either PDF or Word doc, of nautical and shipbuilding terms applicable to modellers in all scales. Thus, folks who don't know ships and shipboard terms will have a ready reference.

For an example, things like knowing the difference between a door, which goes through a bulkhead, and a hatch, which goes through a deck.

So, in this effort, I also cordially invite others to submit terms they would like defined or explained, like the difference between turrets and enclosed gun mounts .  .  . and remember; there are no stupid questions, and everything has a learning curve.

Let the games begin !!!

"Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, okay?"
