Yeah, I say eBay, but check completed auctions (i.e. stuff that sold) more than the multitudes of listings that are for sale.

For instance, you may see an old Monogram B-25 Mitchell for $25 listed 5-6 times, but one that sold last month for a price of only $20.

Old Model kits (dot com) is another sight that sells vintage model kits of yesteryear, often at collector's prices.

EBay gets my vote too.  Its the best way to check on your exact kit and see what people have been trying to get for the same...as well as what people have actually paid.  I don't sell any kits on EBay, but I have bought a lot of them from there...mostly vintage kits, but some new ones as well if it was a kit that wasn't available in the US yet.

Hi, Heavyguns!

The value of a model is really what you would pay for it, or what you would Sell it for. There are books on the subject and I would suggest you acquire one or two. One thing I have learned though. The Market Value is like a spring. Up and Down, depending on where you are at, as well!

My formula is simpler. What I paid, times the market, Divided by By the newer Buyer's ability to pay. Or what the heck, 50% of present retail.

eBay

Do some research to see what someone may have offered the kit at, then what they sold it for.

Remember that the value of something is what someone will agree to pay for it.   You may value something at a jillion dollars, but if someone will offer you only a buck, that is the value to them.

Are you talking about value of current kits you might have in stock, really depends on supply and demand,is it still available or out of production, how badly someone might want it,if dealers have it,your probably going to have give some one a bargain to sell it.

If your talking some "collector kit" who knows, there might be a list, but what a book says you can get for it is different then if you can actually find someone willing to buy it at that "book price".
