For anybody interested in Quinta Studio products
Posted by Eaglecash867 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 1:50 PM

Just got this at the end of a marketing e-mail from an on-line hobby distributor in the US regarding Quinta Studio products:

A Special Note On Availability Of Quinta Products:

Shipments out of Russia have mostly resumed previous speed, with the slight added delay of about a week. Quinta has worked hard with the shipping companies to keep products flowing, and has even worked hard to speed up their shipments. Average time from new product announcement to delivery here is approximately 3-4 weeks. Please make sure to check availability of these items on the individual product pages before ordering, and expect the arrival date may possibly take an extra week or two.

For people like me who cannot paint little switches, knobs, dials, and gauges. These are really nice, they look great and are easy to use.A little pricey for wvey build, but they do make a nice addition to a special build.

But who is the distributer thst sent you the email

Thanks for the information. I've used Quinta cockpit decals on several builds and would recommend them to anyone. There are still several in my stash for my up and coming 1/32 f-16, f-14, and 1/48 F-15 an A-7 Corsair builds.

Ahem:

I don't know about you, But anything Russian is off my order list right now. No, it's not related to what's happening. Well, In a way it is .The market-Place is slowed, Naturally, because of what's happening. If I cannot get it normally because of a Government's action which interrupts regular commerce, I cannot and will Not order from that part of the world!

There are companies in the States and England as well as other places that would appreciate your business. Why not give them another chance or a first time try? You mIght be surprised what's closer to home!

Understood TB.  If you show me an alternative company that produces the unique product that Quinta Studio produces, at the same level of quality, I'll be glad to give it a try.  I really wasn't posting this for the purpose of anybody coming here to soapbox, especially when they don't take the time to look at the product in question before doing so...and the e-mail came from a small hobby shop here in the US that sells Quinta products, among MANY others.

Just got a couple sets for the ICM 1/48 OV-10A that look fantastic.  That will probably be next on my bench after I finish the Tamiya 1/48 F-4B I used a Quinta set on.  They really bring the whole cockpit to life.

This is my most current pic from that build that shows the Quinta cockpit stuff.

Oh...sorry Tojo...didn't see the question before.  It was HobbyNut Models that sent me the e-mail.  They're in Tennessee, and they have a great selection of Quinta stuff.

Kits World makes a series of 3-D decals. Mostly seat belts, and harnesses, but also some cockpit panels for some aircraft types as well. Eduard has introduced the "Space" line of 3-D printed cockpit detail items as well, and that line is rapidly expanding. So for those who don't want to "buy Russian" due to their war, there are options.

Ah boycotts, what a slippery slope,of course everyone is free to do what they want, but be careful about condemning anyone's choices, because there are so many problems associated with so many products that you can't use or buy anything without offending some person or group.

Luckily, vodka has lots of alternatives. I hope nobody gets upset that I like a drop or two of Finnish and Polish vodka Smile

As much as I like Eduard's stuff, I have had a look at their "space" kit that I bought for my 1/48 Revell SR-71, and the quality is decent.  But, it doesn't come close to Quinta's stuff that I have worked with so far.  Their latest stuff is even better because they have upgraded their printing process for even higher resolution.  With that particular model though, Eduard is pretty much the only option at this point.  So, choices are also going to be limited by the subject you're modeling.  I bought some panels for the 1/32 Revell RF-4C that came from a Turkish manufacturer...Babibi Models I believe.  It is also decent, and its the only set I have found for the subject.  All that being said though, this thread wasn't meant to promote one product over another or get into politics.  There are people on this forum who have tried the Quinta stuff and liked it, and the supply chain was uncertain...hence the copy and paste on that very subject from the e-mail I got from HobbyNut.  It was just for informational purposes.

I definitely don't get upset with that.  I think Polish vodka is the best anyway.  Beer

I'm real fond of French vodka myself.
I just put the other brand lines out there to point out alternatives to Quinta. I've tried the Kits World stuff once and am happy with the product line myself.

EagleCash867;

To be honest, I can't find anything that holds a candle for sure. I didn't mean to seem to be Soap-Boxin here. The fact is I ordered something less than a day after hostilities began. The company and product were from a Neighboring Country. It has been 65 days and two posted apologies for the delay-Attributed to events. So you see, it's a matter as to when it's available freely. I have seen planes at my local H.S. that have Quinta products instruments, You're right, they are the Cat's Meow!

I wonder if they do Car stuff? I have some nice Russian Models that surprised the H#** out of me ( Paper). Some of the best printed well detailed Card Kits out there! Are from  cities in Russia, Estonia, much Like, Prague and Vladivostok and Kiev. Plus those I get from Pawel's homeland Poland! It has taken Seven weeks for my latest paper Model to arrive. From a company in that area (Not the Ukraine or Russia) Just close. The delay was due to the mashup in shipments that in some cases I am sure had to be re-routed. This company's kits usually arrive in 7 to 10 days.

Quinta cockpit sets are awesome.  Borboun over Vodka any day but if vodka is your thing good for you.  I'm for anything that helps take the stress away.  I hope nobody got their feelings hurt.

Always wanted to try Quinta. I couldn't care less where the manufacturer of a fantastic product resides. It's not there fault where they were born and usually not in their ability to move from one country to another.
I'm glad things look like their loosing up for them.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Grey Goose isn't bad I guess.  Been a LONG time though...gave all that up years ago.

I looked around at the Kits World stuff, and it also looks good.  Didn't see anything for any of the stuff I have in my stash though.  Always good to have lots of different options.  Trying out different manufacturers for aftermarket stuff is a hobby in itself...so many different things out there.
