Thanks 'PJ' - your comments are appreciated.

Yes the Dora is so distinct in outline. As said, I have another I'd like to do but when???

Approaching 78 years your signature sums it up so well for so many of us

Beautiful vignette setting. Your Dora, figure and base look outstanding. Beer

Love the look of the long nose Dora.

Thanks again Guys,

Eugene I confess when it comes to technical details of the subjects I model I take little interest apart from during the actual build. That's not to be dismissive just how it is. I know the prop blades at some stage were made from wood (some strong timber eh) but whether it was on this version I can no longer remember. I can say that when I do model a subject I do study such details to ensure as far as possible things are factually correct but once done the memory of it quickly fades - the brain's far too old now to store such detail.

I know it's not everyones cup of tea but I like to weather aircraft though some are only slightly so. The colour image of this aircraft came from an Ectachrome slide and showed it to be quite worn. I tried to replicate it as best I could.

I like Doras and that one has a great paint job!Very realistic!BTw is it true that some Doras had wooden props near the end of the war?

Thanks guys,

I just think the 190D is just such an awsome looking aircraft. I have another to do but when ???

It's actually the first 1/32 prop driven WW2 aircraft built - follows on from the Revell Me 262 night fighter.

I have a near finished Revell P51D awaiting 'One man Army stencils' to come out and a well progressed Hobby Boss Spitfire MkVb on hold in primer for the same reason.

I'm not a lover of using decals save for stencilling and the OMA , as yet untried I hope will eliminate that

Thanks for the response - Tug

PS Not sure if this was the right place for a first post - is it?

TUG!

That's probably one of the BEST  looking "Butcher-Birds" I've seen in a long time. Great Work!

Lapsed Returnee last build - Hasegawa FW190D

Hello

It's been a long while since I last posted on here under the username 'TUG'

Though I've managed to do a bit I've had a lot of distractions from plastic modelling since then but a recent resurgence of interest has seen some better involvement/progress.

Here are some images of a Hasegawa FW-190D which is the last aircraft completed.

I was motivated by a coloured image in a loaned book of 'Blue 12' where the aircraft had been flown to surrender to US forces. I chose to depict it just before the start of that flight with the pilot staring into space potentially deliberating his fate to come.

Hope you like it

It's basically out of the box with a few scratch built additions mainly on the engine - most of which were hidden after assembly of the wheelbay!

It's painted with AK Real Colour laquer acrylic and all markings save the fuelling indicators etc are masked and sprayed.

I had bought a set of HK Wet Transfer stencils but the legend for the wing walk area limit left a nasty stain so I decided not to press on further. I now have a set of the 'One Man Army' stencilling masks so I intend to revisit it some time to finally complete it

Hope that's all of interest

Best - Tug
