Clear Part Paint Issue

Thank you, I have those swabs already so I will give that a try as well.

A method that works well for me is to dip a Tamiya craft cotton swab (the small guys, 87105 from https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishing/craft-cotton-swab-7/) in either white spirit or X-20A thinner.  The tip should be just barely damp.  It will easily remove paint and leave no residue; the fine tip allows you to work carefully to only remove what you want.

Additionally, you can seal masking tape edges.  For transparent canopies seal with a gloss clear.

One thing that helps me avoid bleed is using Frog Tape. I get the yellow kind because it has a special additive that makes it soak up the paint and swell up, creating a dam to prevent paint from bleeding under the tape.

Along with above mentioned, make sure your tape or mask is burnishe(rubbed smooth) down along the edge minimum. Most hobby tapes or painters tape have a small elastic qualty that seals edges.

Just an addition to what BK said about the toothpick.  If you dampen the tip of the toothpick with a little isopropyl alcohol it helps dissolve the paint it touches so the paint won't chip as its being chiseled away.

You can also avoid the paint creep under the masking by putting thinner, lighter layers of paint on the canopy so the paint dries almost immediately after it lands.  That way it won't keep flowing out from where it sits.

When this happens I will use a sharpened toothpic to rub away the extra paint. It that won't work and its bad I will strip it and repaint it. One tip to prevent bleeding under tape is to clear the tape edges first then paint. No more bleeding through.
