Great idea! We have a farm a few miles away that has fields of pumpkins, so there's always a lot of traffic at this time of year. Unfortunately there was no one on the street on Halloween night trick or treeting as i was pouring with rain for hours on end!

G'day TB. Yeah, the blokes have the right of it. We tend to pronounce 'aus' as Oz. We also love to shorten words so Australian becomes Aussie and Australia Oz. Bakster, to me is Bako. Because of my Surname I get Ferg, Fergy, Fergo and Gus. We love appointing nicknames too. If I was to introduce you to a bunch of my mates down the pub, you would meet Davo, Mental, Rabbit, Tadpole, Diamond, Canada, Crabman and Winkie. Besides, it's cool to say that you live in the land of Oz!!!

As for emigrating to Oz, it's probably good that you didn't. We had such a small population back then that a hobby shop would have gone bust! Incidentally, I have not forgotten about the tuna boat. I'll send you an email on that one.

Pawel, I'm no expert, but the pumpkin looks pretty good to me. Anything that you can do together as a family is special.

Gotcha too - I wanted to suggest you also add a spar or two to take care of any warping that might occur... I don't want to annoy you, but maybe you should start a new thread and post some WIP pictures... You know I'd help and you'd get my comments there for sure... This one is about pumpkins, you know...

     Gotchya! Hey, I have added two ribs to the Mossie wings near the engine areas. It wil  give it more strength in the long run. The extra one on eash side was to stabilize the Wing/Fuselage area!

Been to Australia once, for two months, and it was like a trip of my life! I think I can clarify this one for TB - you see, TB, "Aussie" and "OZ" sound just the same in Australia, so they are used interchangeably - just like "Barbecue" and "BBQ" - Australians like to write things down like this.

Grerat job Pawel. Hope you guys had a great time. Hey BootBoyz I lived in St. Paul when that happened. I had to fly out That night and just as I was in a cab going to the airport they were shuting down the freeway and when the airplane took off they were shutting off the runway lights just as the landing gear was coming up. Was fliying to NAS Glenview to meet up with my squadron then to Desert Storm. Snow then sand  wow what a differance,.

 Hey, nice job on the Pumpkin! I didn't know that was done in Poland. It was concurrent with "All Saints Day" when I was little, Oct31. Now, I haven't forgotten you on our transaction.

Not a traditional activity in Oz, but has grown rapidly in popularity over the 20 or so years due to influence from the States.

My first Halloween while assigned to Minot A.F.B. was 50 below zero with a blizzard.  It was just a sign of much worse to come.

If anyone lived in the Minneapolis area in '91 surely remembers the infamous 'Haloween Blizzard'. 28 inches of wet, heavy snow over two days. What a mess that was.

Back when I was growing up in the 60s, there was a thing done on the night of the 30th.  It usually involved harmless things like soaping windows, putting invisable tape across dorways so someone on the way out walks into it like a spider web, toilet paper on houses or cars and so on.  Up north in the Detroit area especially, it was called Devil's night and the burning buildings kept the police and fire department pretty busy.  What a waste und useless destruction.

   Alway fun to see the little tikes dressed up, and having fun. We don't have many kids in our neighborhood, they usually caravan to a high end neighborhood for better candy, however I worry about hooligans roaming around. Never had an issue but... Enjoy your evening Pawel

Yeah, that's the main appeal of it - I'm just in process of handing out candy (it's about 6:30pm here). Luckily our local kids aren't very motivated for "trick", they concentrate on processing "treat" :-) Previously we lived in another apartment, about a klick away from where we are now and there we got "papered" a little :-)

   Exellent rendition of our wierd " holiday" , great job on the carve. Do children trick or treat? Go door to door dressed in costume and ask for candy? In some places here in the U.S. if candy isn't given, the offending house gets toilet papered or egged....or both. Michevious misdomeanors but better to give candy.
