I subscribe to both.  Prefer the paper copy and keep them in the shop, but I (used to) travel a LOT and it was always nice to have the copies with me on the plane/etc.

Zinio is okay, but I have to say that I truly despise the DRM system of ensuring that whatever you've paid for you can't keep forever.  At least give it to me as a PDF!  For the same reason I bought a Silhouette instead of a Cricut, I don't want to make a purchase that relies on someone else's business staying afloat for me to access my purchase.  I suppose if Zinio goes down I can keep the iPad that I've downloaded files to and never update it, but that's not my first choice.

I have all the issues back to 2017.  It's nice when I travel and get bored on a flight or in the hotel.

Thanks,

John

The problem for me is that my task chair at my computer is not the most comfortable for long periods.  I like to relax in my lounger when I read a mag.

It's okay.  I've been using it for several years now, on various iPads. To me, it's about the best e-book format I've seen, altough I've generally fought them, based on prior bad experiences.  I am finding, as I get older, the pictures in paper copies are getting smaller and smaller.  It HAS to be the magazine, right?  Wink

Pros:

You're not wasting paper.

You can zoom in to the images to see more/better details.  The picture quality in the ezine is generally quite good.

Once the ezine is downloaded to your device, it generally works pretty quickly.

You have a library of all the ezines you downloaded to your device.

The subscription counts as a full subscription, giving you access to all the digital extras someone with a paper subscription has.

Cons:

ezine download times are sometimes long.  One month the issue populates quickly while others, I find I have to bring the iPad into the office next to my router to get speed to improve, and even then, leave it there all day.

That's about all the cons I can think of.

I'm getting notices that an electronic version of FSM is available from an ap or vender called Xinio.  I hesitate to use these kinds of things.  Has anyone having trouble after joining that, or is it benign?

I hope this is not the beginning of a move from print to electronic publishing!

Never tried it since if I want magazines I want them in hardcopy. Can get loads of electronic materials anyway.

Reviews are very mixed.
