For those in the general area, if you haven't heard, Dobbins (Actually it's the NAS Atlanta side hosting this year) is having an air show this weekend. As I sit here typing, the Blue Angles are outside practicing. All I can here is the whine of a high speed pass now and then but they're warming up. This is the first time in 18 yrs I think that the Angles have flown here. The congestion in the area has kept them out for quite a few years but I guess they're doing some limited manuvers. Patti Wagstaff will be flying, Red Eagle (?) AF Reserve Jet car and other attractions.
If you're coming, parking is at Lockheed Marten on Delk Rd/South Cobb Dr. Busses will take you onto the base from there. Admission is free. No coolers or backpacs allowed on the base for security reasons. Gates open at 0800, show begins at 0930 and Blue Angels fly at 1500 (3:00 for you civies
) and airshow is over at 1600 Saturday and Sunday.
Don't know if I'll make it, but if I do I'll have pics.
