Hi James. I know i voted or the Phantom but if it was my poll i would have gone for the LVT just for the devillry of it seeing as no one voted for it. anyway enjoy your kitbashing and good luck in the compo...Greg

AND THE WINNER IS !!!!!!!

Trumpeters K1A1

Heres why! (read this before you guys start cursing me)

During my model meeting with the local model heads I was reminded that their is a
IPMS regonal comming up in september.

So far I have only two kits to enter in this compo.
I am a slow builder (I average about one kit per year).
So getting a third kit to the show would be a real joy.
The phantom and the T 34/85 just have way to many aftermarket parts to get this done in a timely manner.
I was encoraged by my fellow modelers in the local group to do the K1A1 for its simplicity and Because its an odd ball.
Odd balls get noticed at shows.

So the build order will go something like this.
K1A1
T-34/85
Phantom

Because the LVT(a)1 got no votes it will be ritually burned .(just kidding)
It will go back on the shelf.

I hope I will not loose credibilty with you guys(espicially you phantom phans).
Thats just kinda how thinks go.

Thanks again for the votes and the help.

If you add all the votes for the armor kits together you still only get 10 votes.
Thats assuming we we're in Florida the votes for all the armor kits would apply to the T-34/85.
How is this you ask?
Its the Florida voting system.

Now then,if we narrow down the field the T-34/85 and the RF-4
we will still only be tied at 10 votes each.

Watch out for that Phantom.. I built it some years ago. You can actually either build the regular G version. In fact, it starts out like that, until you have to slice the nose off.. It is woefully underdetailed though, unless they´ve changed molds or are reboxing somebody elses.. Just remember that the thing will need plenty of attention..

By the way, thanks a million for the M2 instructions. It seems you have the better version, as mine doesn't have an interiour, but does have that extra bolted on armour plating.. Funny thing was that I actually found my own sheet in one of the most obscure places ever.. Never the less, you´re a true gentleman..

Wow, you're right Robert. Starting to look like a Florida Election. Since the T34 got the most of the three, why not drop the others James, and let it be a choice between the T34 and the collection of hardware flying in formation?

It's not a fait voting system James. You have the treadheads splitting between 4 kits (well only 3 seem to count) and the wingy thingy people only had one choice.
I smell a conspiracy. Tongue [:P]

I'd go with the Phantom!
As for the K1A1, at least Hyundai makes vehicles! The South Korean's firearms manufacturer is Daewoo(yes, I believe they are the same Daewoo as the guys that make cars!)!
That or the K1A1, just for obscurity reasons!

I was going to vote for the K1A1 (based on subject matter only), but I had it confused with the KV Soviet WWII Heavy Tanks. Before I posted, I had to check -- boy was I off by a few decades. Blush [:I]

Anyways, in case you're going to do the K1A1, here are some links. Honestly, I didn't even know the S. Koreans had this thing. Black Eye [B)]

I wonder if Hyundai gives them the same warranty as their cars? Wink [;)]

So...back to the original intent of this topic, I would vote for the T-34. My second choice would be the Phantom.

BTW -- I was showing my kids what the different choices looked like (they helped in the vote) and came across this cool page for the T-34:

James,
I'd love to see pictures of your Phantom when it's finished - choose that one and get started.

I'll go with option #6, the Laerton 1/16 B-36 Peacemaker. When it's finished, you can store all those unfinished kits in it.

Okay, okay; build one for the Motherland! T-34

I second the vote on the T-34. So many variants, paint schemes and ways to beat it up. Someday I hope to get started on an Iraqi T-34/85.
