Hobby Lobby model sale
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, August 10, 2003 10:33 AM
Check out your local Hobby Lobby. All plastic model kits are 1/2 off this week. This is your chance to get that high priced kit you've had your eye on.

Glu snfr is right! I've been eyeing a Tamiya P-51 at the store near me. It's worth checking out.

Ok I have glu snfr to blame. I'm trying to keep my addiction of buying kits down. And now, you have to tell me there is a sale. And now, I just bought a whole bunch of kits.So i guess I'm just trying to say either "darn you" or "thanks"
I guess I'll stick with 'thanks for letting me know"

grsycat, I'll accept the "thanks" but I do know what you mean. When they're on sale, I can't stay out of the store. By the way, if you've gone into Hobby Lobby this week and didn't find a kit you were interested in, go in on Saturday after the truck comes in on Friday. A whole new selection!!

Just went last night and bought 3 kits, myself. Nothing for me personally, though (*sniff*) just "request" builds. Great deal, though.

No I was just joking because I have a tendency to buy more kits that I build, as I'm sure all of us do. I had a mental dilemna when I went into my garage this morning to see all my collected kits while I had already planed to go into hobby lobby. I got off pretty easy only spending about 70$ but NOW you are forcing me to go back on Saturday too. Sorry I was only trying to joke when in fact I was grateful to know of the sale.

I'll be there saturday morning with a wad of cash! When they have their internet coupons I print off a few extras and pass them out to my fellow model shoppers. I like to wait till after they have made their selection, really makes their day. I gave one to a fellow in the checkout line last time. I though he was going to hug me. He was was buying a 1/24 Mustang kit!Big Smile [:D]

All this talk made me antsy, so I broke down and bought one for myself today. Picked up the Tamiya 1/35 M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage. Nice looking kit, though, and you can't beat the price...

hou ge2000

They do this about twice a year. I imagine the reason they can do it is the large mark-up on the retail price and even with 1/2 off they're still making money.

demon,
the M16 is a great kit. I bought it about a year ago on their 1/2 off sale and just now started putting it together. it's also my first armor attempt and no huge problem's yet but I do want to try the individual track links on my next kit. just from my stupid experience and im sure im the only one "clever" enough for this, on the front axle I put the tie rod on the wrong side.
As far as the sale, the HobbyTownUSA in my town Hates when they do the sale since they two are really the only two descent places to buy models and hobby towns prices are generally more xpensive than hobbylobby's regular price.

my hobby lobby's delivery ay was yesterday after i was there so i got to go first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the warning, cat. I would like to see pics of yours when it's done.

Hobby shops run sales like this every few months, just so it's easier to rotate their stock. Not much of a selection if they have the same things every day of the year, now is it?

so if any of ya'll haven't gone, Saturday is last day of sale so hurry.
