Thanks, demono!
From that list (and the page before it) I have the 1/350 Gifu Castle and Himeji Castle.
Nice kits!

You can flank your 1/350 Yamato with a coupla castles!
Perfect!

Hi guys!Smile [:)]

Nice to see there's some interest out there!

The two kits I've built were great! Very nice detail, no troubles with construction, and they come with all the foliage and groundwork you need to make a very nice model. Both were molded in several colors, all appropriate to the pieces they represent, which kinda made painting easier.

Hmmm....I don't know of any US distributors...where do ya'll usually get Japanese stuff? Hobby Link?

I have some pix of my own castles, but they're prints, so I need to scan to post.
I have tons of pix like that....need to scan and burn a cd of all that stuff.

Price-wise, they're cheap here. 1,000-3,000 yen ($9-$25 US), and you can find them in any hobby shop or department store that carries toys and models.

They also have neat models of other historically important buildings too, like Kinkakuji temple in Kyoto.

I'm relatively new to the Internet, but I assume you can run searches to find pix and distributers and whatnot. Not that I'm trying to blow anybody off, but I really don't know of any relevant sites!Smile [:)]

I'll try to scan my pix and post a few soon.

Thanks for the replies, guys!Big Smile [:D]

Sounds good. Like yesterday, do you know of a US distributor?

I'd sure like to see some pics as well. I've never ever seen one in a store around here or I'd have bought it. I really like Japanese history.

Any chance of getting a we-page or some pics of them? I have a few friends that may be VERY interested.

Models of Japanese Castles?

Here's a topic I've seen nothing about in these forums: Japanese castles.

What forum would that even be in?

Anyway, there are loads of great kits by Doyusha and...and...well, Doyusha makes plenty of 'em!

I've built Gifu Castle for the Japanese Department at the University of Georgia (GO DOGS!), and also have Himeji Castle in my parent's home back in the States.

These kits are beautiful, very detailed, and not at all expensive.

Anyone else build or interested in building these great kits?

Maybe the Armor forum would be a good home for this thread!Big Smile [:D]
