William Hardin, San Diego, California

William writes: “Here is the old Tamiya 1/50 Ki-44 Shoki with a scratchbuilt cockpit. The plane is painted with Floquil engine black and finished with Authenticals. Shoki, a Chinese Tang Dynasty deity (who rose to peak popularity in Japan during the Edo period), was regarded as a protector against demons and is often depicted dressed in black.”
