Dragon 1/35 scale Tiger I - May 2013

Chris Townsend, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

“The Tiger I has long been my favorite tank of World War II,” Chris says. “This one is a 1/35 scale Dragon model I built a few years ago when I was 14. It was my first attempt at modeling Zimmerit; I used a filed-down flathead screwdriver and Squadron white putty. Due to the rough surfaces, the numbers and insignia are hand-painted with Winsor & Newton artist’s oils instead of decals.

Nice used-and-abused Tiger! Great job on the Zimmerit and markings. I think you've really captured the feel of WWII German Armor.

Excellent job especially considering you were just 14 yrs. old! Some of the DML kits have a high parts count, sticking out the project shows a lot of perseverance.
