Will you display it next to your 1/25 Academy Panther V G as a ( 1/24 vs 1/25 sort of ) size comparison? 

Not bad at all! I'm wondering why the manufacturer would actually chrome plate main rotor components! The grey look that you have for the main rotor directional controls and the main rotor hub looks great. This is one area that I actually DO have some personal/ working knowledge of. I spent 8 plus years as a crewchief on a UH-1H Huey. Good stuff here bud!

Looks pretty good, even with all the shortcomings of the kit.  I can't tell from the pics, but did you add the B pillar and ceiling padding details?

By the way, it is closer to a C model than a B model.  It has a C model rotor hub with thinner, D model-like blades.  It really is a mismatch of Huey types.

Thanks guys for the nice comments. This kit opens itself up for lots of super detailing. The guy I built it for just wanted it OOB and nothing fancy. It would have looked even better by doing the missing padding and top console, slicing off the molded belts and doing my own in foil, and opening up some engine panels to show off plumbing and wiring.

I hate to disagree with you HeavyArty but that is a Bravo M/R hub and grip assy all the way except it's missing the counter weights on the grips.  Here is a Charlie rotor head assy.

OK, I knew it it was off in some way.  Still a less than accurate kit, pretty far off if you ask me.

I'm not that familiar with the particulars and most of the time models are a bit off here and there but it still provides a decent representation of the gunship. I'm happy with the end results, and the guy I built it for is even happier.

Love the big Huey build, PJ!!!!!!! Great paint and nice weathered "working" helo look and feel. What brand and color(s) did you base coat the big bird with?

I've got the Werner Wings 24th scale Huey crew, and while it ain't cheap, the set is absolutely worth the money!! I've wanted to replace the two cloned no-neck pilot figures from the kit since I was a kid way back in the 70s...

The pilot/co-pilot re-sculpts and crew chief/door gunner sculpts are great and will really help to bring this kit to life. Now I just have to pick up the Huey kit!!

I've also seen 1/24th scale 7.62mm ammo boxes for sale on Shapeways, but that's about it.

So far, have not seen any other accessories like MG and rocket sites, 7.62mm ammo belts, M16s, M79, M18 smoke grenades, .45s, mini gun boxes, frags, or anything else appropriate for a Huey gunship --- anybody know of anything like this in 1/24th?

Thanks Johnny B. I used MM olive drab enamel for the main color and MM black enamel for the nose color. A black oil paint wash brought out the recessed details.

Thanks BK. I'm glad you like the big Huey.  It's a huge model but it's easy to work on and makes a great display piece.
