HH-60H Question
Posted by Razor04 on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 2:44 PM

Do navy HH-60H Seahawks/ Rescue Hawk remove their cockpit doors like the Air Force Pave Hawks or Army Black Hawks do?

I have seen Pictures of them with the doors removed and I didn't know if this was something they did operationally or for some special reason

Yes, if in a hot, arid environment, they have been known to fly with the pilots' doors removed.

It started in 2009 with removing the doors in Iraq when I flew them.....now it is standard for to fly without them and also helps with visibility during brownout landings.
