Initially I wanted to convert my Pavehawk to a blackhawk, too. I had started to scratch-build some parts (IR Sensors, FLIR ecc.) when Academy came out with the DAP.
Now I have both boxes on my shelf and two helos waiting to be built.
BTW I'm also waiting for the HIND ... so I'll have three birds wainting to be built.

Glad to help ...
By the way ... take a look at the link of kit reviews under the Mi-24 Hind review thread. At the bottom of the page, click on 'aircraft reviews' and you'll find an excellent review of the DAP kit. I've got it and agree with the review. Excellent kit.

WOW, I took a look at the Academy AH-60L DAP, and i've found my next project! I just have to find one in Australia and im set!
yeah, i'll stick with the Pave I think, less conversion work with the AH-60L DAP kit anyway, looks like all the converting is just leaving things off!!!

Thanks for your help!!

Littlebird
If I recall, the aircraft used were 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment) birds and were in all likelyhood, MH-60Ls. These aircraft have the folding stabilator, which is squared at the ends, like the Pave Hawks and the Naval versions of the Hawks. I would suggest you stick with the Pave Hawk and at some point get the AH-60L DAP. This is actually a MH-60L and while not perfect, has most of what you need to make a good MH-60L. Either way, they're good kits and you can't go wrong. Good luck,

To Pave or not to Pave

Now i've done it!
last night (in Australia it is now 11:20am) I thought, "well i've spent the day cleaning spraying and converting my Pave Hawk, why not curl up in bed and watch Black Hawk Down?" seems resonable?Approve [^]
So I watched the 6 camera 'Target Building Insertion' on the 3 disc special edition (awesome!!!!), and the while time im watching im saying to myself... "you know, it wouldnt take much converting to make my Pave into one of these Black Hawks." so now I dont know what to do...[:0]
Basicly all the Pave Converting i've done is adding the rappeling system on the roof, and added detail to the In Flight Fuiling Rod.
Also, the instrament pannel of my Pave is more remanicent of the UH-60a pannels, not the UH-60g, so by making it a black hawk, i'll be fixing Acadamy's error!Clown [:o)]
And the Pave has the same tail stablizer as the ones in the movie. (more squared with little holes in it)

So PLEASE tell me what you guys think! and if you know what type of Black Hawk it is in the move please let me know!
