1/35 Scale Hueys
Posted by usmcski on Thursday, April 4, 2013 7:13 PM

I think it's fair to say that the UH-1B and C models are the best offerings in 1/35 scale; it would sure be nice if the same quality were applied to a UH-1D/H, a decent UH-1N (with proper nose shape, decent rotor head and interior), and for God's sake, will SOMEBODY do a UH-1Y????

And while I'm on my soapbox, how about a 1/35 AH-1G, AH-1F/S, AH-1J/T and a decent AH-1W and AH-1Z??   Lord knows we don't need another ME109!!

The Model Rectifier AH-1W and AH-1T Super Gold Cobra died on the vine when they were released in the 1990s. I remember getting a few of them and the Kiowas at Toys R Us for $9.90 and $4.90 when they got out of the model selling business. I remember trying to sell them on eBay and not getting much more than $12-15 for them. I think I still have the Gold Cobra and a Kiowa that never sold.

Now the Hueys looked pretty good to me, but all they had to compete with was the ancient 1/32 Revell Huey.

I agree with you on a 1/35 AH-1G(I just voted for one in the most wanted kit suvey) and I could'nt agree with you more on the other helicopters you mentioned. Sounds like we think alike when it comes to helicopter models, now if we can get kit makers to listen!
