AH-1T Super Cobra
Posted by Scotty T on Sunday, November 23, 2014 10:35 AM

I recently acquired the academy AH-1T+ Supercobra, the black one with gold cobra markings.  I am skeptical that the decals will be good for use, is there an after market set to replace or are they able to be salvaged?

Scotty,

I used the TwoBobs AMRAAM set and they went down like a dream.  After applying per the directions I couldn't even see the edge of the film.  My only complaint was that all of the decals for one missile were one decal.  While this really helps with placement, I had one fold over and getting it unstuck was a pain.

If you want to try, you can use some of the liquid decal film and put it thinly over the old decals and let it dry before trying them.  It should help keep them from falling apart.

Just so you know, the kit boxing of the black & gold AH-1T+ really isn't an AH-1T at all, but represents the early AH-1W.
