I've heard it's a decent kit.

I built this one a year or so ago. It wasn't bad to build but I can't attest to accuracy.

That looks very cool, is that out the box detail?

Yep, except decals, and the FLIR pod under the windscreen, I made that. I don't think it is accurate, just tried to get the overall look. I think it is decent out of the box, but I'm sure there is plenty of room for some extra detail.

If its anything like the MH-53E kit, it should be a good build.  I have built a couple MH's (used to fly them) and have the CH in the stash as well.

It is a toss up between this kit and the new italeri 1/48 Westland wessex. They seem to be about the same physical size even though the CH is 1/72 so the "wow factor" on a table should be the same.

The Wessex id very nicely detailed with some extra PE bits but almost 1,5 times the price it hurts a little more :-(

Mayby I should get the CH first and save up for the wessex....

It goes together nicely, I have built a couple. One thing Italeri got wrong was the direction of rotation of the main rotors, you need to turn the blades over when assembling it.
