the Bell Models 204, 205 etc till the latest ones 212, 412 form a large family and a vast modelling subject. 

the civilian versions are rather not receiving much attention when there is a lot to discuss and see.

i wish to bring awareness to civilian aircraft that are non the less interesting.

lets start with this: a Bell 412:

what i would like to ask about this aircraft is what is that compartment fitted between the skids and the sliding doors on both sides?

Kenneth,

  That is a auxillary fuel tank with a step built into the center of it.  Here is one installed on a National Guard UH-1H.  Hope that helps.

I concur with Rotorwash. Seems like these are still a Bell/Textron exclusive on these utility types. Oh the memories...
