my interor has the "Presidential Blue" flocking carpet with the seal in the center.........two simulated leather chairs w/ seatbelts backing to the forward bulkhead.......a mahogany table facing to the 4 place couch backing to the rear bulkhead..........and one each crew chair with their backs to the l/h & r/h cabin interior sidewalls.........all wood trim is cherry wood and all leather is darkish brown........interior walls are mostly creme soft wallls.........
am i even close ?...........just from speculation ?

This is one of those projects that's been rolling around in my head for a while. Glad there's others out there that I can go to when I give it a shot. Plus, I want to do up the VC-25/Air Force One. Both are unique and would look good on display.

Don't forget that if you want to call your chopper "Marine One" you must have a mini president on board otherwise its just a marine Helicoper.

i hope i'm not too late to contribute to this subject...........but, i've only recently mated the fuselage halves of my, thus far, 5 year & approximately 200 hour executive VH-60N project.......it began as the 1/48 Revell HH-60 and over some time i collected as much resin & photo-etched aftermarket stuff as i could lay my hands on......including cockpit detail set, i think from Cutting Edge......the HHIRSS exhausts resin stuff is from High Flight and a number photo-etched screens & antenni are from Eduard..........there's more but, those are the major aftermarket things i can remember.......
the rest of any mods or alterations were scratchbuilt.............
the reason for the Revell kit is there are decals for the Whitehawk........specifically the flags and the presidential seals..........the best interior shots and detail shots came from a WWP (Wings & Wheels Publications) UH-60A Black Hawk in Detail mag.......they are the best detail of any aircraft i've ever seen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Squadron book is good but, if you can find the WWP book, you won't be disappointed.
Now, i've called HMX-1 and spoke to a number of people there all the way up to the AG and i got absolutely nowhere about either the cockpit or the executive interior.........i wasn't surprised...........the aircraft is classified and any information you get will be on the sly for sure...........so, i guessed at the interior having spent some time in Corporate Aviation........Executive interior is executive interior so, chairs and a couch with seat belts will work......and i took the liberty of being a little lavish.........maybe leather upholstery.......cherry wood tables......and i included a portrait of Newt Gingrich.....since he and Bill C. where such good friends........
i could go on forever but, here's the highlights of my project.........hope it helps........hope you even read this..........and no matter what you do.....build for yourself and enjoy.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have it on good authority that the seats are grey, with the seal on the headrest (though I wonder is the seal on all the headrests or just the Big Guy's?), and the interior scheme looks like it's tan and wood. The curtains in the SH-3 are presidential blue, but in the VH-60 they are clearly tan.

I've used the packaging ribbon that's fuzzy on one side for carpet before. It works great. Just cut it to shape and glue it down. I imagine the floor of Marine One will be pretty flat so it should be easy. If your craft shop doesn't have it (or the color you want) try flower shops. Get the widest ribbon you can find but if it’s not wide enough just trim the paper backing as closely as you can and lay it down in strips (like real carpet). If you trim it well you’ll never see the joint. Or, you could lay a different color “walkway” between the aisles using the same technique.

Car modelers use flocking for carpet but to me flocking is just too lumpy and irregular. Especially in smaller aircraft scales.

Since information about the interior will be hard to come by I'd suggest a traditional decor of blue and white and wood. A particular shade of blue is most often associated with the president. In fact I think it's official called "Presidential Blue" It's the color of the Presidential Flag (not Air Force One's sky blue).

I had already noted the structural shanges you had mentioned, and they don't look too challenging. The interior, though, is giving me headaches. How do you simulate carpet in 1/48? Great idea on adapting the citation/lear seats, though. The idea of sculpting and casting a dozen seats was getting me down and this might be an easier alternative. I hate buying a whole model just for the seats. Guess I'll just have to build myself a citation in "cargo" configuration! I'd love a copy of the interior photos, if you can find them. I'd be grateful, and in return I have compiled, over several long days scouring search engines and photo databases, about a dozen good detailed photos of the VH-60 which I can post for public consumption.

The only H-60 in use by the Marines from the introduction of the S-70 series thru this date is the VH-60N. This variant of the Black Hawk is used along with the VH-3N in the Presidential transport role. The VH-3N is the usual choice when going around the DC area due to it's more spacious cabin and is the a/c you always see landing at the White House. The VH-60N is more easily air transported and is usually used when the president travels away from DC (domestic and overseas) and needs helicopter transport. The interior is carpeted and cabin seats are simular to those found on executive jet a/c. You can use a 1/48th scale Lear or Cessna Citation as a source for the seats. Interior photos are difficult to come by for security reasons. When I researched my book "H-60 Black Hawk in Action" for Squadron, I could not get any cooperation from the Marine detachment due to the media's placing Presidential (and government in general) transport in the spot light ... as an expensive perk. Of course, they only do things like that during Republican administrations. The Marines wanted to keep a low profile at that time and therefore there is nothing in my book showing the interior of the VH-60. I may have (some where in my files) a interior diagram sent from Sikorsky. If you would like a copy, send me an email and I'll look for it and email it back to you. The Marine One that I know of is a Sikorsky Ch53 and the one in the picture is a CH46 Chinook. Now if the Army is flying the president around they may use a blackhawk.

Or did I miss something lately? Last I checked Marines hadn't started using the blackhawk yet.

Trivia Alert!

On the afternoon of 9/11 when Air Force One finally arrived at Andrews AFB no less than six presidential helicopters launched, and took separate routes to the White House. Finally they all converged at the same time over the White House and the one actually carrying the president broke from the group and landed very quickly.

DAVEY5- it's not a metalic OD. It looks like your standard OD, Glossy as hell! I got to sit in one of the -60's when Pres. Clinton was in California a while back...sat in his seat too! Seats are light gray, cushey too!

The VH 60 is a sweet subject to do. If 1/72 scale is your choice,then Hasagawa
comes kind of close with the UH-60A VIP Hawk. In 1/48 I would probably start with
the Mini Craft US Customs Blackhawk.IT has very similar exterior.Sikorsky's has
many web sites to check for interior stuff. But I would assume that the Presidents
aircraft are guarded from overexposure to the public.The high dollar model sellers
like P D Q, and others sell their version of the Presz 60.Their adds have pictures
of that chopper. I am curently gathering info myself on color and stuff.Guess what
color they paint the exterior. Sickens one off green metalic. The # is about 20 digits long ,and is mixed in one place EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE GOVERNMENT.
Other specs list the color as metalic olive drab,and white.If by any chance you
come up with a sorce for more info on the VH versions I would apreciate a E mail
if its ok with you.If I get more I will be glad to let you know what I find. happy huntting,sorry about the spelling ,I'm rushing, Davey 5

This is a good one. I have tried google and ask jeeves. I did not check all the hits they brought up. But they tended to show the VH-3. Try different search engines, maybe the blackhawk web site
