Let me be the first to say Sign - Welcome [#welcome] You're gonna like it here. Lots of helpful, friendly and sometimes comical advice.
From the images that I have been looking at. It appears that the main rotor blades on the Blackhawk are satin black with a silver/aluminum/natural metal strip along a portion of the leading edge. From what I could tell of the tail rotor, they appear to be olive drab but, may also be satin black.
There is a member on here who is a crew chief on the Blackhawk or one of it's many variants and maybe he will see this and be able to clarify this.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Randie's right. Most photos I've seen of US Army Black Hawks show an olive drab tail rotor.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the board.

At some point, the tail rotor blades went from OD to Black. Note that the aircraft OD is pretty dark. I used Polly Scale RLM 70 Black Green to get what I thought was a match.

Hey Phil!

Blackhawk main and tail rotor blades come from the factory satin black. It is very rare to see green blades in service now. The strip that chopperfan refers to runs from the tip to about 3/4 span. I can try to get exact specs if anyoue would like. Here in the desert, the entire leading edge is covered with a polyurethane strip from the bend at th tip to about the 3/4 mark( measurements anyone?). Some crews even paint the metal edge of the tip cap to help reduce erosion of the blades. The components of the main rotor hub and tail rotor hub may be black or green, so check photos of your subject.

For the rest of the plane, testor Army Helo Green is a great starting point. Is is a very close match for fresh paint (Ours were all repainted last year).

I will try to get pics to folks in a few weeks when I am home on leave if you would like. I try to check in here weekly and enjoy questions. If I don't know the answer, I will make up something that sounds good.

Hey Phil,
Im a 60 crewchief And Technical Inspector also, and I havent seen an OD set of T/R paddles since the very early 90's other then a few that were painted locally by the airframe shop after a repair of some type. Most all M/R and T/R are flat black. There are nickle silver abrasion strips on each blade. They start at staion 208.5 on the Main rotor blades and at station 44 for the T/R paddles. Each Nickle strip extends to the end of each blade. Stations are measured in inches starting from the center of the rotor head on the M/Rs and from the center of the T/R Pitch Beam (Basically the T/R head). Clear as mud ? Big Smile [:D] Anyway, any other Blackhawk pics, lemme know, I'll do what i can.
