Okay, well i just received my Cobra Company CH-46E SeaKnight Detail Set in the mail today! What's even better is that i just ordered it yesterday morning - not a bad turn-around. Of course living 50 mins away from the company probably doesn't hurt either.
Now on to my thoughts.......
I think i was a "little bit" disappointed with the overall workmanship of this particular set. My only saving grace in all of this is the fact that i purchased it to assist my conversion of Aurora's HC-1B kit over to a "D" Model Chinook. I really only wanted this set for the avionics compartment, cockpit bulkhead, seats, and instrument panels; which luckily will suit my needs just fine and save me a lot of work. However, i would think that for the price i paid, the "cleanliness" of the resin parts would/could be a little bit better. There are quite a lot of imperfections with the pourings (not crisp), and there was a lot of flashing/residue still left over, but a little bit of cleanup with my Dremel should do the trick.
Before i really go off on a tangent, i guess i should give them the benefit of the doubt by asking: Has anyone else ordered this set and experienced the same thing, or did i possibly just get a bad set?
Either way, if you are considering ordering this set, just be wary that you too may experience the same thing and might possibly be disappointed as well.
On a scale of 1-10, i would rate this set as a 7.5 (it does have a lot of good add-ons, just wish the molds would have been cleaner)
