Hmm. Please double check. I just clicked on them and they both took me to my Yahoo page where I posted the pics.

Thanks,

Hey guys,

Yeah, I saw that photo too... Its clearly a fake, but cool lookin nonetheless. The helo is an MH-60G Pave Hawk in USAF colors. Its not Navy. The Navy has several different versions of the Seahawk though. SH-60B/F were the first variants. Not sure what they're up to now. The Coast Guard operates the HH-60J Jayhawk.

Yes, the Navy uses Seahawks for almost all helo OPs, rescue, ASW, etc. The Sea King is retired for the most part.

A useless piece of trivia, the shot is composed of the blackhawk imposed over a scene from the 1966 Batman movie based on the tv series.

Mike,
It's a great pic and I'd love to see it as a diorama.
Don't the Navy use Seahawks? It's the naval version of the Blackhawk.

Cheers,

Did you guys see last months National Geographic? There is a disturbing photo of a white shark launching out of the water getting ready to snatch a navy PD off a ladder from under a blackhawk(?) in San Francisco Bay. The photo is a hoaxed composite of two seperate shots but the diorama possibilities are staggering.

What sort of helo is used for navy air/sea rescue operations? I gotta do this diorama!
